If you have the patience and are willing to wait, BAT is my first choice, depending on what you have to sell. Otherwise, list it on CarGurus. CarMax is not online, but they will give you are fair wholesale price.

If you are just looking for a quick sale at the best price I found Carvana was the best. Was willing to give me $34K+ on my 19 recently. Vroom only offered $30K+. Prior to buying my 19 I had a BMW 435i I tried on cargurus.com, autotrader.com and some others with no luck at all.

Carvana gave me a stupid high offer for my 2019 EcoBoost, not sure how they make money...but not my concern. It was about 4K higher than KBB And about 6K higher than any other dealership offered. I took it and ran. They showed up and everything worked out, no haggle no changes. Now I am looking to replace it with a GT and I am deciding between Carvana and buying new.

I don't get it either. They offered me 3K UNDER KBB etc because of local market adjustment, but tacked on 2000 if I quoted them a different zip code a long ways away. I think it probably pays to play with the zip code and find the carvana drop-off locations that give you the best result.

I sold a C7 and Escalade off Cars.com in about 2 weeks. Private party sales.

How’d it all work out with the purchase did they show up with a bank check?

that’s true. I didn’t know they had drop off locations. How far away did you zip code wise?

Yes, kinda a crazy story. They originally came to buy the C7 and their truck/trailer blew a turbo coming into town from Minnesota. So we did a 2 car deal and they threw the trailer on the Escalade and pulled the Vette back. They own a small auto dealer close to Minneapolis. We did wire transfer at my bank where we closed. ;).

I’m in the South Florida area. I put in a zip code for Tampa and Orlando and got a bit higher about $500 more going a couple hours out. Not sure the algorithm but maybe it has something to do with the truck coming the distance to pick up since they have locations in Tampa and Orlando.

@peoples1234

So with your experience, when they come to your residence to pick up the car - does the Carvana Driver come with a certified check, or is that agreed value payable directly to you through an online transfer?

Did you have an open loan on your vehcile (no title in hand) and if so, how seamless was that process?

Does the Carvana Driver actually take your car for any test drive or do any type of multi-point inspection at that time before loading it?

Does the Carvana Driver take pics of the vehicle before loading it so no false claims can be made once it reaches a Carvana storage or distribution Site?

I’ve been on their site, I’ve read their FAQ’s, just want to know/hear more form someone like yourself who actually did a transaction. Thanks in advance!

One of my friends said the “truck driver” came did a walk around verified the miles I think collected the keys and drove it up on the truck and she got a check...

Just sold my Honda Accord Sport 2.0 manual to these guys: https://autolendersgo.com/ They are based out of New Jersey so not sure how far they go. Not yet finished with the selling process, but so far so good. They should be paying off my loan this week and pickup as well. And hand me a check for $4000 in equity. Hoping all goes smooth.

It's definitely zip code related as far as amounts they offer. For my Honda, this place was same as Vroom so I went with the small guy being a small business owner. Carvana was $3500 lower at first. Came up to about $1000 lower when I sold it. So the Carvana offer was rising.

It's crazy the amounts they are all offering these days. It will NOT last so if you're interested in selling, do it NOW. Heck, going on several car forums, people that never thought about selling have now done so because of the high offers. On the flip side it sucks trying to buy as the used car prices have of course skyrocketed. Again this won't last though.

BTW I've sold several cars to Carvana in the past and it was very smooth. I think it's a little longer process now because they are swamped. All the cars were mint so no issues there. They walked around the cars, drove it 50 feet to intersection by my house, turned around and loaded them up.

Oh, I'm sure it's changed now because of the aggressive buying. But about 3 weeks ago I was looking at V8 Camaro's on Carvana. ALL 17 of them listed were in the buying process. So there were none available for purchase. I've never seen that before.
