Think I'm going to drive a couple hours down to Joliet Il and try a Chicagoland event this weekend.

It's a decent site and they put on good events there. I'm heading to Muskogee where I think the tires will melt before we even do a run. Forecast shows 105° for both days.

Chicago was nice. Good site, good course, friendly dudes, and stiff competition.

I’ve been accepting that my big long mustang wouldnt take a sharp 180 around a pivot cone as a side effect of being optimized for larger concrete courses but after a ride in a very tossable DS car, I decided its not good enough and it can be improved, if not fixed entirely.

So made a shock change for more rotation and dropped some healthy time. I may look hard at my slightly softer front springs for next season, but the shock change should help in lincoln in a few weeks.

I was on Vitours P1s (installed last march, first event in June ‘25 and only 8 events on them but lots of time stored badly in a shipping container and mover storage for a couple months there while I sold the house for the move north. They’re at that stage where they seem pretty hard when cold but gum up with some runs and heat. Gonna retire them for future track days I think. They did ok at Joliet but everybody else was on Bridgestones and while I didnt feel entirely outclassed by tire, they seem well past their prime and best as a practice tire at this point. Maybe 58 or so runs total and plenty pf tread left, but I just couldnt put enough events into them quickly enough this last year to get the most out of them.
