I'm looking for a friend a used 2018+ VMP or Whipple Supercharger.
And I ran across this ad. Has anyone heard of or dealt with this company?
Their deals are just to good to be true if ya know what I mean.

They probably buy wrecked cars and part them out, thus the price. I’ve not heard of them specifically but there’s a lot of those types of places all over social media. Some are legit, some most likely aren’t. Parts Farm and Midway Mustangs are two reliable, legit part out places. Might be worth checking them out too. I believe both have eBay storefronts as well as websites.

I’d just be cautious with some of those other places. Especially if they’re parting out wrecked cars, there may be parts damaged or missing. Hopefully they would disclose that but some will not. I have very limited experience dealing with places like that though, maybe someone with more experience will chime in with their thoughts

It might be the Parts Farm. They are in Lyons, GA. Seems too odd to be a coincidence.

ā€œOK Sirā€ is enough to scare me away.

tread carefully!
And they've been sending me question mark messages, legit shop is usually too busy to be sending out enquiry messages.
But I'm old enough to see when something is 'too good to be true'. Then it probably isn't.
I probably answered my own question here, but was hoping someone had dealt with them.
Thx.

I'm in Canada and the guy says they'll take PayPal 'Goods and Services'. So is PayPal really that safe?
He said he's got a VMP ODIN supercharger for 6,000 CAD which is 4,400 USAD.
Damn I'm conflicted here.

If you guys can't tell these are scams....

"Best parts"

"Ok sir"

Random stolen images from elsewhere on the web

Super low prices

Shit gets real sketchy at payment time

Places like the parts farm have actual websites they don't just says "best Chevy dodge ford Kia Hyundai partzzz"

Along with other tells highlighted earlier:

- The scam site has no phone number and no address information

- The scam site has no business incorporation information at all; it's just a FB page

- I've attached two photos. Initially, the scam site called itself, "thepartsfarm", then changed. I've included an image of the real and legitimate Parts Farm

- Crappy spelling, use of CAPS and poor use of grammar in the title of the scam site

Do not do any deals on FB that are anything but in person cash transactions. Never send money via Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, etc.

As per the real The Parts Farm page, "thepartsfarm" was some low life POS's attempt at a horrible scam copy. Just like their equally terrible current scam page you asked about in your initial post.

As per the legitimate The Parts Farm:

No business history and no phone number. And no local pickup from Facebook, Craigslist, or whatever people are using. I’m out. You see down south they were stealing cars and then parting them out or building lower tier cars with higher end parts and selling them online. People are scum anymore and will do anything to scam someone. Spend money on the new stuff or a reputable dealer. You can get some decent deals out there. Not marketplace prices. But you’ll get what you pay for

I realize there are a few exceptions to the rule, but in addition to no address, no phone number, incorrect use of the English language brings an immediate raised eyebrow for me to do business with such a company.

When I deal with a company, I want to know they are on their game. Using improper capitalization and incorrect sentence structure is a red flag for me. Yes, legitimate companies make mistakes, as we all do, but a business that cannot generate a paragraph or even a sentence without multiple issues tells me they are not on their game. If I have an issue with a purchase from such a business, I'm not so sure that even if the company is legitimate, that they could, or even want to communicate with me. Yes, there are a few exceptions to that rule.

That said, I admire legitimate people from another country who attempt to master the English language. I recall a Reader's Digest saying from many years ago that stated, "If you speak three languages you are trilingual; if you speak two languages you are bilingual; if you speak one language, you are American." And...I'm American.

Anyway, back to the subject...I would look elsewhere in the OP's case. Maybe start with one of the other businesses identified in this thread.

At this point we should always assume everything on the internet is fake and then look for any evidence it’s real.
