Just have to say the miles per gallon debate is not as straightforward as you would think. Comparing the two engines the V-6 is going to get way better consistent miles per gallon over the long haul and that eco-boost is going to turn into a gas guzzling machine whenever you tip into the boost to try and move the car at all. If you really work at it and make a conscious effort I have no doubt you could get low 30s on an entire tank but did you really buy the car to drive like that? It's difficult . I just wish the damn motor sounded better. Just the luck of the draw it's one of the worst sounding turbo fours I've ever heard LOL still can't let it go from the top of my list though

Considering my 2014 V6 with the 2.73 gears can consistently get almost 35 miles per gallon on the highway, I'd be pretty surprised if a 2015 V6 with the 3.15 gears couldn't also get low 30s on the highway.

I don't agree with you. I have had turbo 4 cars continiously since 1985 and I have been able to exceed the EPA mileage ratings on everyone of those cars and they were not babied. I haven't found the mileage to be any worse in agressive driving than a NA car with equivalent power.

I have yet to have the EB on the hiway for more than an exit or two so have no real hiway data yet. But my 48 mile round trip suburban commute for work and my weekend running around have been consistently netting me 27-29 mpg tank to tank average. Almost all of the 3k miles I have on the car have been in sub freezing weather with winter blend gas. When the weather warms, the gas switches back to summer blend and I get a few more miles on the car I will be getting 30-32 mpg on my commute. By really babying I have seen 35 mpg on my commute but I can't maintain that for a full tank.

Granted with real aggressive driving the mileage will drop off a lot but the NA v6 will too.

The Eco Boost 4 banger guys on here, remind me of the Coyote guys when the 5.0 engine came out, Mod the crap out of them, and then cry and whine like a baby when Ford told them, You tune you pay,NO warranty, get the pop corn out won"t be long now.

Maintenance shouldn't be a worry, especially with warranty
This would depend on what modifications have been made and whether the stock tune has been maintained, which I'm guessing may be difficult for many performance-oriented EB owners to do. Once that first tune is uploaded, warranty coverage becomes questionable. This can be a significant point of concern when working with an engine that, for the most part, is unproven. The V6, on the other hand, has proven to be an extremely durable platform even with aggressive tunes.

As long as I can get more than 27 on the freeway, I'm good.

Granted I don't have mine yet, and I am purchasing the V6 51A because it fits my budget , but there were other reasons I didn't go with a base Eco (which would've been at the upper end of "affordable" for me. First reason was the SOUND lol. The V6 has a great sound and reminds me of my old 89 LX 5.0 when I put flowmasters on it. It's NOT a V8 but it has the burble I loved and that's just from the stock exhaust. Secondly, I intend to have this car a very long time and the less mechanical stuff that can go wrong the better. I have a Ecoboost Fusion so I don't "hate" the engine or feel that a Mustang with 4cylinder power is somehow sacreligious. Lastly, the MPG difference between the two motors is negligible, and I am sure I will get above the EPA average in the V6. It's the fact that I can get all the HP and Torque on Regular gas, which can be .20 cents per gallon cheaper than the premium fuel the Eco Requires. If I used reg gas on the Eco I would be getting less HP and Torque, while spending more money on the car and the running costs.
As to modding, I may eventually get an intake, maybe an exhaust a few years from now- but I'm more likely to upgrade the interior to leather, upgrade the speakers, and change the exterior a bit as time goes by and money permits. Those are my reasons, if they match your concerns then the V6 is a no brainer. But either way- this will be a Mustang, s whatever you get it will give you enjoyment and satisfaction for years to come!

Stam616,
Previously had 2013 V6 Premium with auto (MCA Edition), 2.73 gears.
My 2015 V6, auto, 051, 3.55 gears is to me is much superior in performance, ride, looks, and even interior. I love this car. Previously had a 2011 GT Premium, auto also. I prefer my new Stang to this too. A great ride!

Haven't driven the previous gen, but there's some conflicting opinion about low end power. Does the 15 feel more torquey down low than the 13 to you?

Check out the V6 forums if you want to hear some exhaust samples. It's a great sounding V6. I like the roush axleback + bbk shorty header setup quite a lot.
just wanted to see what was going on in this thread, and i'm glad i did, because i just realized that the v6 has an awesome sounding exhaust, 10x better than any EB exhaust.. wow

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. V6s sound as good as V8s to me.
4s can sound cool also, but not in a "muscle car" kind of way...
Not a fit for a stang to me personally.

Doesn't stay so deep throughout the rev range but it's still amazing, imo.

Sounds great at idle and light rev.Not at upper revs, definitely better than the Eco at idle though.

V6 sounds awesome in high revs, love that high pitched wail. Can't beat the sound of the turbo whistling through the exhaust of the EB though.
