No 7.0? If this is true then my next sports car is a Corvette. What a let down! I’ll
still drive my little V6 Mustang as my DD. But I wanted a big engine in the Mustang and thought the GT500 was it.
Not gonna happen.

Even GM is moving to smaller displacements with their next Corvette apparently.

The 7L is going to be a workhorse engine.

It would be so awesome if Ford did a Boss 429 with either a 7 liter NA motor or a 4.29 liter twin turbo V8. I'd be happy with either.

I'm still hoping to see the CAFE requirements rolled back to 1990s or so. There's no good reason to keep winding them tighter and tighter. Most people want vehicles with larger engines, not tiny s-boxes.

GM has already started moving to smaller displacement, Notice the absence of a 7 liter in their lineup... their largest engine is now a 6.2, and even that hurts their cafe regs

Most people want small SUV things. The Performance market is just a small niche comparatively. Ford sells a lot more Escapes and Foci than they do RS, GT350, GT's SHO's ST's or GT500's

A lot of small SUVs sell, but I think a big part of that is cost. Pickups and larger SUVs are very common on the road, even though they cost a lot more than cars or small SUVs.

I think you are on to something, but I will take that $20 bet. You have a paypal account?
I think that’s a safe bet for you. I really don’t think they would have a vehicle that isn’t in actual production at the auction. Could be wrong, but my guess is 001 comes later

The 001 car want be there but a press car could be there in its place. That usually how it works. You bid to win the honor of receiving car #1. Standard Barrett Jackson practice. I think they just did it for a ZR1.?

Yep. I agree. I just don’t think they’ll have a car there that soon after the reveal...but hey I’ll love it if they do

Could be right. But not totally out of the realm of possibility! If they do reveal in Detroit they would have to move pretty quick to auction it off if delivering the first car in 2018?!

I like to disassemble things.
I sense the auction would be for the first Bullitt and not the GT500.
