Sleeved predator, 314cid.It is. Much better design. There are multiple threads on this if you do a google search. I am impressed with it and hey the extra .2 of a liter is nice.

Was it block failure? These were stock gen 3 motors or built without sleeves?I know of ~5 that broke at the ~1050+whp mark. I would NOT recommend a stock gen 3 at that power level for longer than a weekend. If you make it longer, you got pretty lucky, or aren't ripping it.
Note: The predator block may be a different story.
Yeah.. I can't afford that lolSleeved predator, 314cid.

You will see a wide variety of failures based on the root cause. I wouldn't try to categorize it as you did, it just is what it is.Soooo.. what I've gathered from this information is... then gen2 will crack around the base of the head studs because the gen 2 headstuds are 11mm vs the gen 3's 12mm head studs. But the gen2 has a closed deck, which is stronger then a gen 3's open deck block and the gen 3 can crack around the cylinder walls.
Head stud diameter has everything to do with head gasket sealing, not cracking in any specific area.
So when @robmustang201528 was in kindergarten and had a tummy ache, he shit his pants one day. All the kids continued to say rob shits his pants. At 40yrs old, everyone "knows" rob shits his pants all the time. When it reality it happened once. Or maybe another time when he was drunk.....

Lol seriously though, i wouldn't consider one specific example as common place. I can't say ive seen that before, and couldn't properly determine the cause by looking at a picture.
He’s saying he wouldn’t do stock gen3 at 1k plus for a long time. Was it block failure? These were stock gen 3 motors or built without sleeves?
Gotcha . I just don't want to do this shit twice man. This shit is expensive as hell and I'm trying to do right the first time.... on a budget. I still gotta get a valve job done to my heads in the install plus fuel system.... fuck lolSo when @robmustang201528 was in kindergarten and had a tummy ache, he shit his pants one day. Is your block in good shape? You can get your block sleeved with the components listed for under 6800.Damn.. so this motor is a no go huh? I want to make 900 all day long without issues.

Yeah I have a gen 2 block. I really didn't want to have my car down for months while I wait for my motor to get built so I figured I'd buy a new block and maybe put sleeves into my old motor wayyyyy down the line lol. I was just trying to figure out which motor is best. So far RPG seems to be the most reputable, and their prices for a block without sleeves with all the goodies inside are not that bad.Is your block in good shape? Most were 100% stock, one had drop in rods, pistons, with ARP head studs. I think the stage 2 RPG with the upgraded head studs, good head gaskets, and balanced rotating assembly will support 900hp, but shit can happen. Was it block failure? These were stock gen 3 motors or built without sleeves?
