Have no idea but they say they can. The 5.2 is on the bottom yes.
How many lbs of boost were you running? What was the compression? I'm assuming the fuel was good E? I know your not pointing fingers but who tuned it?

Gen3 and Predator 5.2 this block some say is good to 1300 WHP (Predator) and side by side you can see why. Dont need sleeves.
The gen3 block is stronger than the gen2 that is all I’m saying. By how much who knows, I’m not saying twice as strong or anything like that just that it is the stronger of the two

Got damn it lol.. everytime I think I have my mind made up.. I see some bullshit lol. Sorry about your motor man. That's why I'm asking so many questions. Sometimes the same question twice. So the bottom block is the 5.2 block? I was told you can't add cylinder supports to a gen 3. Is that correct?
Correct there are no off the shelf cylinder supports for the gen3

I was thinking the same. 17/18 is alot right? On a high compression motor?? Even with good fuel?
I believe he was on stock motor. As long as fuel & timing is appropriate, you can turn it up.

Its hard to say which block is ultimately stronger. Combo for combo, the gen3 cars typically perform better. Base engine makes more power, 12mm headstuds for better HG sealing (up to 1khp) and 10spd advantage to a degree. Also seems to be more gen3 cars pushing the envelope in stock trim. I dont really care for the gen3 open deck design, though its usually not an issue until 1khp.

Open deck design? Rpg is saying 1200hp without issues? I've seen one gen 3 so far with a cracked block.

Stock block should be able to handle that amount of power without sleeves??. Thats what I was told.
I know of ~5 that broke at the ~1050+whp mark. I would NOT recommend a stock gen 3 at that power level for longer than a weekend. If you make it longer, you got pretty lucky, or aren't ripping it.

Note: The predator block may be a different story.

It is. Much better design. There are multiple threads on this if you do a google search. I am impressed with it and hey the extra .2 of a liter is nice.
