They work great. If I had to nitpick 1 thing and there is only 1 thing I don't like about them... tiny pebbles find their way in between the front flap and the bottom of the fender because on mine, there is a tiny gap here. To get them out I have to pull the flaps away a little while blasting them out with the hose. Two ways to fix that I haven't bothered doing. 1. Adding a thin piece of foam to the back of the flaps to close the gap. 2. Heat mold the flaps so they hug the front fender better.

Other than that, go for them. They look great and I have no rock chips anywhere that I can see.

After previously trying both of the things that apparently you also thought of, I found the fix to this....... and it's simple.

Grab a 1/4" drill bit, and one of the stock push pins you removed when installing the Rokblokz

Drill a hole through both the flap and the inner plastic liner, then open the hole in just the RoKblokz up one more size (I used a step bit), and insert the push pin.

Jaime, let me know how it goes after a few weeks. I did that same mod (you can see it in some of the photos I posted of my car) and at first there was no gap but now there is. Seems like it is pulling on the fender liner and now there is a gap again. I will be happy when someone actually makes one with a tight fit.

Ok, I’ll keep an eye on it. The liner is up against the Rokblokz so I really don’t see it moving anywhere, but I’ve been wrong before (just ask my wife). Perhaps the deciding factor is the size of the hole drilled? As my dad used to say, “it’s tighter than a bull’s ass at fly time”. I’ll post here if the gap comes back.

Looks like a great solution! I still have those push pins. Fortunately I saved them.

Leave it to Jaime or Tob to come up with a killer fix. I'm definitely going to do this when I install the new lug nuts.

However, as you mentioned Mark, the curve tension can still be there so I plan to hit it with a heat gun for awhile after installing the pin, just to try and reduce the pulling pressure.

I'm just going to wait for the Jaeger Brothers solution. I wouldn't trade them for anything on my 350's. Track day? The come right off and go right back on afterwards. High speed driving on roads hasn't lost one yet. I went through two sets of the ZL1 addons because the double backed tape wouldn't hold them at high speeds.

Best to heat mold with the flaps off the car. That way you can create a tighter curve that when installed, should stay pressed against the fender curve. I am going to try the heat molding first. Then do the drill and fastener method as plan B.

I guess I should have done the heat mold trick when I had them off. As far as I am concerned, if they don't stay tight against the fender, I am not going to keep them on until someone comes up with ones that do. Besides them collecting rocks, I don't like the look of the gap. The heat mold trick just may be the answer.

In an effort to share my experience, and hopefully not beat a dead horse, heat shaping them is not a bad idea, its just not as important as making sure the hole drilled in the liner is only 1/4" diameter, with the hole in the flap being enlarged slightly to allow room for expansion when pushing in the center piece. Doing this (and holding the liner taught while pushing the outer piece of the push pin in) gave me a nice tight fit, that I ended up using a rubber hammer to tap the center pin in all the way.

I also recommend loosening all three original mounting locations, then adding the push pin FIRST. This pulls the flap up nice and tight to the fender. Then retighten the others working from the push pin, out. This way the flap is "walked" into shape.

Just trying to help, This has worked for me, and I really like them. I prefer how flat and unobtrusive these are vs other brands.


Tom, I have used Jaeger Brothers in the past with mixed results. On one car they were fine, on the other car one flew off under normal driving. When they worked, they worked good.

Went on a road trip in my pristine car, had to traverse a couple of construction areas, miles covered with pea gravel. Drove as slow as I could and still got gravel everywhere under the car, which was just awful, made me sick. On top of that the road was bad enough in spots that I'm sure I have 3 rattles I didnt have before, years worth of wear and tear in a day, I may need counseling.

The day before I put on my new splash guards, which I was happy about under the next days circumstances but when I rinsed the car I noticed that there were stones trapped between them and the body. Quite a few of them. While this was an extreme circumstance I assume that over time this would continue to happen and eventually rub the paint down to bare metal and rust. So...is this actually better than not having them at all?
