Photo of socket. The tapered recess in the spacer allows a standard socket to only contact about half of the lug nut. To fully engage the nut and spread the force of 150 ft/lb over a larger surface, the socket needs to be beveled to fit deeper into the recess.
I agree with EFI. To have a better selection of drag radials, I run 19" GT350 (19x11) wheels on the back of my '20 GT500. The wheel offset difference is 12mm, so I use 20mm Eibach bolt-on spacers.
Torque spec for the 500 is 150 ft/lb, so that's what I use on the spacer bolts. To get a better...
Stupid hard is more like it. 2020 GT500s were breaking their brake pedal brackets probably
due to this. I gave up and installed JPC Racing line locks. Instant on / no menu futzing / works
great.
I don't get out of the GT500 forum much, so you can shout me down, but since the bad plug thread days of the early (Mark VIII) DOHC 4.6, I use anti-seize on all spark plugs.
I got mine from:
https://industrialtecsupply.com/products/fumoto-f107sx-360-rotatable-oil-drain-valve-m12-1-75-with-clip-new-style
They had the best price/shipping, but that was a couple of years ago.
Fumoto is above the belly pan. Blue clip is the safety lock. Just attach a hose, put it in your drain pan, remove the blue clip, lift the lever up out of it's locked position and rotate to open. It is as mess free as you can get. I have a black vinyl cap on the hose barb to keep everything...
That was the story going around in 2020. My 4Ss are 3 years old now and the MT ET Streets that I put on for strip days are way stickier than the 4Ss. Their compound (ETs) is rated only a bit stickier than Cup2s. I gotta say that on clean streets, Cups would bite better. On a prepped strip, side...
They rebuild totally wadded up cars. 11 years ago they had a '12 GT theft recovery that I looked at. Every piece of sheetmetal on it was blemished. I assume they rebuilt & sold it. As usual, buyer beware.
The JPC kits have been updated (improved) with a new solenoid/valve. It has a square(ish)
valve body w/ small solenoid attached. The valve body mounts firmly to the frame rail and
takes up less space than the old cylindrical body.
I gave up on that menu driven bullshite and bought a JPC Racing lock setup. Works first time,
everytime with a flip of the toggle. No reading of the display required.
Hey Airport, why are you busting my ass over what Charles Capper told me? When you called them, you should have asked them why he was telling people they don't do dealer markup.
Charles will never see 75 again, so maybe the young punk salesguys pulled one on him.
I was just reporting what he said, before the add was posted, so lighten up Sheperd.
Tonight, at a restaurant, I ran into Charles Capper, owner of Capper Ford, Williamsburg IA. He knows I have
a 500 and jokingly asked if I wanted another. He said he has a 50 mile car bought by a guy, but the father
would not put up the cash, so the sale fell through. I asked about markup & he...
