Its not a recall. Its a customer satisfaction program. If your having issues you should talk to the dealer. I believe when the 19's were delayed in shipment, they fixed the problem. Some may have slipped by. Mine came up as well

My VIN is on Oasis site but not yet on Ford Pass app.

I like to disassemble things.
All the more reason to get an MGW :like:
I laid out the issues the factory shifter suffers from and quite a few defended it. It is a low budget, offshore sourced, compromise, that was engineered to fool you into believing it was greater than the sum of its parts. The chicken has come home to roost...

If you read the reason for the program, it certainly seems like it should be a freaking recall.

The ‘16s and early ‘17 had a Customer Satisfaction Program that was a spin on filter, a nifty oil filter wrench with our VINS engraved, and a revised Supplemental Manual that included new information that it’s normal to expect up to a quart of oil be consumed if you drive the car as advertised.

Yep, just launched the Ford Pass app to pull my VIN to check ... and saw the notification that I'm impacted by the recall. Time to schedule an appointment and pray for the best with the dealership mechanic.

Do anyone knows what kind of work/part involve to fix this? And why this doesn't applied to pre late 2018 early 2019 cars?

They will indeed be in a hurry to beat the clock on this one too. Page five of the pdf shows they'll get one hour of labor time to "replace the gearshift lever assembly."

My 2019 GT350 was built in February 2019. I had the issue described shortly after I took delivery in July 2019. It would go into reverse w/o needing to pull up the reverse collar. The whole shifter pattern felt out of sorts. The replacement shifter from Ford was back-ordered due a large number of preproduction GT350's being held due to a faulty part in the shifter (mine had it). After two weeks I ordered an MGW and had it installed by the dealer. It's a nice shifter, albeit, a bit stiff, and I too am not a fan of the stiff push down procedure to get reverse. Otherwise, it's fine. 2019 production year was a morass of hold up's and problems in production. Remember the no steering wheels available debacle?

Your MGW will loosen up a bit over time.

Interesting the dealer would install a non Ford part...

As for the reason the Customer Satisfaction Program is not applicable to earlier GT350s, it’s probably due to design changes with the stock shifter. Just conjecture on my part.

I had the MGW installed 3 months and it's loosened up and feels really good now. The putting it in reverse is easy. I'm not sure why I read so much on it being hard. My triceps must be on point. :cwl:

Dealer owner has been a personal friend for 30 plus years! That helps! I still kinda like the smoothness of the original stock shifter on the 2019 GT350 and I do miss the collar reverse entry on the Ford unit. I had it on my 2000 SVT Contour and really liked it.
