The plastic isnt that thick. I put a zip tie around the end but didnt squeeze it super tight. Just basically to keep it from enlarging so it falls of the head of the tube. It isnt going to come off now. I have no worries at all about it now.

Yeah, I'm sure you could still pull it off with the zip-tie in place. It's more of a safety net from that line vibrating off over time.

Hey AirBusPilot,

Did you feel the line compress when you put the zip tie on?
It did enough, if I pull on the line it won't move now.

Mine feels snug now with the zip tie on it also. And I to put the other zip tie around the line. I didn't pull it real tight just enough to take some of the weight off the line.

Update: I checked my zip tied line this morning after a very spirited drive last night. The line is still in the pushed in position. Appears to be holding. I'll continue to monitor as I check oil...which is frequently. LOL

I had an extra screw-type band clamp that fit, so I just put that on. I'm doing two track days next weekend. I'll let you know how it does.

Zip tie installed on mine this afternoon, line was backed off like most. Pushed it up & zip tied for peace of mind anyway.

Okay, the paranoia in this thread got the better of me so I checked my car this afternoon. The line was not pushed all the way to the top of the tube, but it didn't appear to be in danger of falling off either. I took a moment to push it further up the tube. Good to go.

I just checked mine. It was a little loose but not as bad as some people are reporting. It was a little lubricated with the brake fluid tho. Any pressure applied was causing it to squirt (gigity). I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned but it looks like the hose just doesn't have enough slack. I really had to tug to lock it back in place.

Mine wasn't as bad as the pic, but I did have about 1/4" that I moved it up...I will probably get a small hose clamp for piece of mind.

From memory I checked a Ford mechanic guys GT Mustang (6 speed) that is a couple years old and his was all the the way on. And it seemed if I remember right his reservoir was just a little different looking. But can't remember if taller/rounder. But yesterday I'd asked the dealership owners son if he checked his on his new 2017 California Special GT Mustang (6 speed) and he said his was all the way on. So assume the regular Mustangs its all the way on. So it might be they changed the reservoir style on the Shelbys but didn't change the line to a longer one to compensate for a shorter distance.
