The wrong size bit will do it for sure.Ez out FTW.
TBH, I’ve never seen anyone strip a torx before. I’m sure it happens but dang.
Bummer.I’m an idiot and instead of going hand tight I went by the torque specs in the manual and it happened while using my torq wrench :/
Agreed. And even if it doesn't back out with the reverse drill it will still leave a hole for the ez out.Personally, I'd use a reverse drill bit. As it bites in, it might spin it out before you would need to use an ez-out.
PS - it is a Gurney flap named after the late great Dan Gurney.
Foot Pounds instead of inch pounds??? What do they call for? Like 15-18 in. lbs.? That ain't much more than finger tight.I’m an idiot and instead of going hand tight I went by the torque specs in the manual and it happened while using my torq wrench :/
Ouch! Lesson learned, but at least it is in a place that is easy to get at, that's a plus. Torque wrenches, have their place, no drought.I’m an idiot and instead of going hand tight I went by the torque specs in the manual and it happened while using my torq wrench :/
