I sat in a 2014 GT500 with Recaros that fit nice and I'm 6'2" and over 250#. They seamed much wider than any I've sat in since.
Sitting for a few mins is one thing, regular driving is another. My shoulders were much too wide. I guess it depends on where that 250lbs is located.

I have had them in numerous cars. Once my waist hit 38 and my shoulders 50 they are no longer viable for me.

I don't want to climb in and out of my car. Too restrictive for my daily driving.

But I am glad they fit you.

i have some tape with reference marks for the seat and back positions, as others drive my car at events sometimes. Makes it easy to return it to the right position.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen the Mach 1 recaros are the ones from the GT not the Shelby. I sat in the cloth shelby 350 recaros tonight test driving this beauty and its a hard pass. Those cloth recaro seats suck and they suck really bad. I felt like i was sitting bitch in an airplane.

I have vinyl dots on the seat trim and sill cover so I can quickly reset the seat position after cleaning the carpet :

They do, but for some reason it’s only on the euros ? :

Only RHD, LHD EU spec are all manual like USDM.
But "EU" RHD with electric Recaros a still missing a memory function... 🙈

I ended up buying a 2019 GT350 with 4K miles on it and passing on the Mach 1 with recaros. No regrets. I did love the Mach1 but just couldn’t find one with premium seats that wasn’t attached to $10K ADM and after sitting in the recaros it was an easy choice. In the end, I chose bum coolers. Feels so good to be back in a mustang and little bit of a dream car owning a Shelby.

Part of the confusion might be the description of the 401a package on the window sticker would include heated/cooled leather seats. Those get tossed in favor of the non-heated/cooled Recaros if you option up.

The discussion about comfort and body type is right on. I have short legs (30" inseam) and wear a size 48 coat, 5'10" so very long torso. The seat cushion in the standard Premium seats is just fine for me. I really like the cooling in Florida. The Recaro torso is too narrow and the seats sit a bit higher, which I don't need. I'm almost into the headliner already. I'd buy them if they made sense. But they don't for me. The Premium seats are really good and a better choice for me.

I had a 13 Boss 302 LS and now have a 19 Bullitt. Both had recaros. I like the 19s more. They do have the heated seats, just not the cooled. As much as I loved cooled seats(live in AZ) I like the recaros more.

I have recaros and they feel amazing and very nice for long drivers. They are also amazing for track use and autocross. They keep you planted. They don't have heating and cooling and if your a bigger guy you may struggle to fit in them. Everyone who has ridden in my car comments on the seats and how nice and snug they are.

In my 2014 Track Pack I had the heated leather seats. I bought a Corbeau racing seat and swapped for track days. That gets old real quick. Not hard but heated leather seats were kind of heavy and bit awkward to pull/put in. Since then I've gone with Recaro's. Though I would also have done a Mach 1 with the cloth seats and Recaro's if I got one. If I did a premium with leather I might go with heated and cooled and get it setup with a 6 point harness to keep me in. Leather Recaro's would be least favorite option. Won't grip as well as cloth and will be hot and heck in the sun. Recaros are lighter as well.

are the recaros more comfortable than the stock seats? I think theyd have to be awesome to give up heated and cooling
The recaros are awesome…deep bolsters that truly hold you in place when getting aggressive on the corners, plus 8 find them just plain comfortable, even on long distance hauls.

I used to struggle on long trips in my car because of a sciatic nerve issue that I have in my lower back that runs down through my left leg. Purchased a 2020 GT500 with the recaro seats and I no longer have that problem. On the negative side spreading your legs will be restricted.

During my last Ford dealership visit I had the chance to sit in a GT500, felt home home right away, awesome seats. I am now sport seat shopping, maybe even Recaros. I live in south Florida but I never use the cooling feature for the front seats. I just turn on the AC a littler lower and the fan up a littler higher. Sure, would be nice to gut out the factory seats and stuff all that crap in the new sport seats, maybe I find a way. Not too worried about the memory feature. I am looking for something (driver and passenger seats) not more than $2k. But the factory seats have to go. Skip Barber at Sebring is on my list next year.
