Really why you say that?
Cause they're a tight fit. I'm 5'11" 220 last night. Everyone says I look about 175.

Anyways the recaros are tight. I love them but I like my seats literally holding me in and getting squeezed by them. I don't know how well they would do on a long drive so now I'm considering not ordering them and just buying them from ford racing instead.

Get the V8. There are enough threads on here and enough trade ins already from EB to the V8.

Most EB drivers say it is a blast stop light to stop light and in town. Lots of torque down low to get up to speed quickly. If you get bored with the power (I always do) the aftermarket has you covered. I too like to have fun and be a little bit different.

I would definitely recommend NOT getting the recaros. I am 5'11" and 255 and they do fit tight. It doesn't bother me everyday but there are a few days that I cant seem to get comfortable lol. I kinda knew it would be that way going in though but I just couldn't stand not having Recaros in it. I figure its motivation for me to trim down a bit.

I drove both before going to the Eco. The GT is fast as hell, but everyone expects that. I went with the EB for several reasons.
One...insurance/payments much cheaper. I could have swung the GT money w/o much stress, but didn't need it.
Two...over the last 4100 miles, averaging 26.1 mpg, and that includes a few trips to the track. Car is my DD, so fuel mileage did factor in as well.
Three...people don't expect a 4 cyl to be quick, gotta love the stealth appeal. These cars respond very well to basic mods, kinda like the TRs.

I had a few turbo Buicks, including a 500+ hp Turbo T that looked like grandma's Regal. Give me a few months, and I'll have a 400+ hp EB to sneak up on people with. If you check in the EcoBoost sub forum, the aftermarket is embracing these cars with open arms. 2 companies already have 500+ hp cars, one with a stock engine, other with forged rods/pistons. There's also a few tune only cars running in the 12's, so plenty of potential waiting to be tapped, for a lot less $$. If I want a V8 fix, I have my '93 Lightning.

As for the Recaros....don't get them. I had the cloth ones in my '13 V6 Performance Pack, and short drives were fine. But, road trips begin to suck after an hour or two...just no way to settle in and get comfortable. Once you sit in them, you are planted.

Ok so I'm ready to pull the trigger on an ecoboost mustang but I have some questions before I do and you guys seem to be the best bunch to help so here goes....

1. I'm a curvy guy (lol) 6' 350 and I recently test drove one and though it wasn't too bad I was wondering if recaro seats would be better for headroom since they seem a little lower than factory seats

2. I've been a v8 guy my whole life but I always loved the oddballs i.e. Grand National and the 89 turbo Trans am (had one) and for some reason these ecoboost cars seem to remind me of them they're not the fastest cars by any means but they piss off the purists and shake up the enthusiasts...so my question is will this car be fun to drive like stop light to stop light fun or will it be boring...money wasnt an object here before someone chimes in and says buy a gt if I wanted to go that route I could've picked up a Camaro or challenger or gt but like I said i love the oddball

Thanks in advance guys
You are going to feel the pinch from the Recaros, which seem to fit up to about a 44L. Too tight for me. Headroom is no issue in the S550. Much more room than in previous cars.

Several guys on this forum have bought and tried EBs, only to trade them for GTs after a few thousand miles. So far, no one has traded a GT for an EB. Just sayin.

Im 5-10 and 250. Recaros will not accommodate my wide bodybuilder back. I do not fit all the way back due to side bolsters.

I wanted them but no go.

Also if mods and speed are of any importance to you get the gt. I think that's the biggest mistake ecoboost buyers make is assuming it's a hot rod. It's not. Yes it's fast and will really surprise you for a four banger but it's not a hot rod. It's a quick car that you can average mid to high 20s mpg pretty easily. If that sounds good to you then go ecoboost. If roasting tires and blowing people's doors off is your thing go gt.

I'm 6'8 225 and fit just fine... rear space is non existent though

350 will be tight for recaros, really tight

cliff notes: get the v8
I'm currently 6' 2" 220 lbs, and the standard seats fit fine, and are comfortable for long drives, I've driven in Reccaros as well and they are OK as well.... but about 18 months ago when I was a bit heftier, just under 280 lbs, neither seat would have been too good because of the side bolsters. I had a rental car with similar seats to the standard premium GT seats, and after about 10 miles they were pretty binding and became uncomfortable.

Honestly you are better suited for a Challenger R/t scatpack. You will be way more comfortable in one.

6' 1" 380 LBS wear a 46-48 waist. I fit in the mustang fine. The seat is a ok size with the regular seats.

The EB is definitely the oddball, so if you really want to drop $30k or so on a car in order to ruffle the feathers of the enthusiasts, have at it. But when you roll by a GT you'll probably think "oh there's the beast." That's how I felt with my V6. Think about it.

I actually don't think that at all. I admire most mustangs. Really the days of v6 being looked down on are gone. I could understand back in the day when the 6 was 200hp or less. But now they're over 300 horses and pretty damn quick. If I was to do it over again I'd consider a base v6 just due to the bang for the buck factor. Not a base gt. I'm confident in who I am and really couldn't care less what someone thinks of my premium ecoboost. Hopefully my rear end is all nice and cool from my cooled seats so the haters don't scorch their lips on my butt.

Go V8 if you're debating it in your head. Take it from someone who owned both. The Ecoboost is a good car, don't get me wrong, and a LOT of folks are happy with it.

But those are the folks who said "I want an Ecoboost" and bought it directly. If you're even THINKING of a GT, get a GT.
