Getting ready to order a new Mustang... Would love to order the GT350... but
since I need to replace my totaled Escape(currently driving my F350 diesel
dually) I am having a hard time deciding on the GT Premium with PP or just
getting the GT Premium with Auto trany... What upgrades would it take to make
the non-PP perform like it have the performance package upgrade or should I
just suck it up, order with the PP and get the Recaro's?

Dang decisions decisions and this car makes it so hard to choose.

I think the general consensus was that modding an automatic mustang to have the changes that were made during the PP on the manual would be quite a bit more expensive (than the package price for the PP on the manual offered by Ford).

But I would imagine that going aftermarket for those parts on an auto (still costing more than the package) would net you better parts overall anyways. All just my thoughts on the matter... might not be fact.

I was in a similar boat. I opted to go PP. Didn't like the tire/wheel combinations on non-pp. liked the bigger brakes and 3.73 torsen diff, better suspension parts, etc.

I personally wouldn't forgo the heated and cooled seats for the recaros. Unless, I guess, you are tracking the car.

What type of track driving do you plan to do with the car? the Auto will be great for drag, but gear changes for Auto cross tend to be slow. So the PP would be better for that type of track use.

Thanks for the replies. I mainly participate in auto crosses and some track days about 6-8 times a year.
I have been running in a 2014 Z51 Vette that belongs to a friend. From the sound of it the PP package
would be the way to go. Now Recaros or the heated/cooled leather buckets? How are the bolsters on
the stock seats?

The PP is the biggest bargain on the S550, especially if you plan on taking your car to the track.

The stock seats are light years above the S197 Gen. In my opinion, Recaros are not needed on the S550. Just remember the leather are considerably heavier than the Recaros.
