That place had a few R's that they had listed as just 350's not to long ago. Was a little different for dealer, especially a sports car dealer, to miss that. That 500 would do better back in stock trim at least where the wheels are concerned. Tho k most have the same reaction.

This one is a 1 owner but by the bigs and Littles it has, makes me think she has been really used.

More so that Ford can no longer use The Shelby Name as well.
Yeah, as long as Ford doesn’t enter into a licensing agreement with Shelby any time soon (and no indications that they will) the 350R’s and 500’s will hold value well for some time.

Frankly being able to buy a car of this caliber for under $100k in 2025 dollars is nuts to me. These cars would shit stomp the supercars of my childhood (in all facets, not just straight-line), and adjusted for inflation those things were probably 5 times the price.

The woes of the car pretty much centered around a faulty main wiring harness which im surprised doesn't happen more often. Every system of the vehicle runs through this harness from the drivers side kickplate to the passengers side kickplate where at each of those junctions connects to all the major subsystems of the car. It's safe to say that the harness in question is the equivalent to your spinal cord. And yes, all that is listed is required to remove/replace the harness.

So, the harness was replaced. That solved most of those problems. The rest of the issues are somewhat routine and it's safe to say all the bugs are worked out of the car.

What i don't like about the car is that it has so many miles. Yea, 20K is not a lot for any other car, but when you are talking about GT500, miles are usually much harder than your average daily driver. Having the buyback stigma on it would force a buyer to insist on a price commensurate with that status.

I think the car would be fine for what it is. It's a 20k mile GT 500 with a buyback on its record. For the right price, I'd buy it.

I have to disagree with you here Tom, the harness was one issue early on, but after that there have been significant other issues that has popped up on this car based on the oasis report, had the issues shown up before the harness replacement and barely anything after I'd agree with you, but the tranny acted up, the exhaust dampener, all the codes its throwing, most of what its throwing up I have never had come up on mine I cant speak for yours but mine minor issues were like the cruise control buttons broke on the steering wheel, the trunk switch had a bad connection, maybe a panel was a little off, not anything like this list.

Also as for mileage there are many more cars out there with more miles for roughly the same price, I for one only drive mine during the spring through early fall, which works out to about 3K a year so by the end of this year I'll be at 15K, so its not so much the miles but how they were put on the car and as I said who put the miles on the most the first owner or second.

I really dont think the kinks or issues are worked out of this car, and I dont think it ever will be and for that reason I wouldn't take a chance on this car unless the price was very reasonable and to me as someone said 60K I think is still unreasonable for the issues this car has/had/or will have.

As of now, yes, moving forward no one knows.

I don't think this car will ever live up to its name, this is best a garage queen because I expect more issues this car will have moving forward, but again to each his own.

Why do you think that?

The major stuff was due to the wiring harness, most of the rest is just stuff as a result of the harness. These cars are 100% dependent on all the modules communicating reliably with each other. Once thre is a comm problem, all kinds of stuff doesn't work and causes subsequent failures.

We all know about the transmission line leaks, the exhaust actuator problems, etc. This could happen to anyone's car.

Point is that it has all been gone over. If you buy the car for a song, I wouldn't have any problem with it. As long as the buyer understands that it will forever have the stigma of a buyback attached to it.
