East tn, not saying dealer till i have car back in my possession.
Understood. I hope you hear something soon. Both of the S550 Mustangs I have owned have made lots of noises. It certainly doesn't inspire confidence in Ford.

Side Note: A guy on here laughed at me because I drive a BMW with no warranty and 100k miles. I honestly trust it more than I trusted the Fords I have owned. I'm glad you have a warranty and that all this isn't costing you anything, but I wouldn't be able to sleep a wink thinking about it if I were in your shoes.

lol.. im more worried about them scratching/messing interior up than anything. Other than getting it back. I still have factory warranty for till 2023 and the one i bought when i got car which covers everything bumper to bumper till 2026. I made sure it covered the cooled seats, a/c etc...

At this point all i want is my car back fixed and safe. My plan was to eventually give to my son, he loves the car and always says "lets go fast".... def my kid...

You sound a lot like me. I've owned 12 brand new cars in my lifetime. 10 of those 12 were brand new Fords. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I took them to the dealership for warranty repairs. Even the ones that came with free oil changes, I just changed the oil myself. I don't trust anyone enough to leave my car with them long, so I know exactly how you feel.

Hang in there, at least you got some news. Stinks I know. Hopefully in the end it will be even better.

I don't know how far apart they took your engine or if the Tech working in it is seasoned so to speak, but have they checked for a damaged or cracked crank sprocket? Read this thread through and see what another M6G member found on a brand new GT and the results of what the Tech found:

I would guess such a sprocket is missing teeth or is damaged as that one in the above thread, the chain is going to make some type of "click" or "tick" during revolutions.

Good read. Mine never made any tick/tap or clicking. It sounded like a heat shield rattle and the second sound was like a grinding noise.

As far as the tech working on it i have been told hes very good so who knows..lol.

That's just raw dogging life bud, lol.

Honestly though, warranty work isn't worth dick on the American brands anymore. If you need to use it, endless wait times, shoddy work, no loaners, the list goes on. I won't take my car in for anything I can't fix myself for a reasonable price.

Well… I went to dealer today. It’s torn apart atm. See pics… they said they are putting it back together and if makes noise still it’s engine time. This was said by my service writer and the ford escalation tech. Who knows though…

I forgot one thing... one of the reps at the dealer said i should have window'd the block... would have been faster to get new motor.... said its in customer favor to do this and it works in their favor 9/10 times... this is crazy imo...

No one else finds it crazy the dealer basically told me to window the block?

Well at that point there is no disputing it needs an engine and they can’t try other things before replacing it.
