I can't even imagine paying for labor. Just buy the car w/ the power you want and leave it alone. Worst way to spend your hard earned money, EVER.

One of the best things about owning a car is the modifications. :ninja:

You can get 470hp ecoboost for less than a gt. Good way to spend money imo.

This is what I'm talking about. Unless it requires taking the engine apart, most car mods (and for that matter, maintenance) are pretty straight forward. Not to mention there's a youtube video for everything.

There's more to a car than its spec sheet. I would've bought the turbo even if I had the cash to splash on a GT. It's not apples to apples, it's a different animal entirely.

I also agree, cars are probably the worst financial investment a guy could make. Hands down. Every second you own the car its depreciating, and those mods, ha.. unless you part the car out, they're worthless the second you install them. But that always been the point! Money is not the object, this is a hobby. And hobbies are about passion. Pay to play, exactly. If you just want to get return on your dollar, hit the stock market or buy an apartment building.

Personally, I never add up total costs. Because every time I turn a wrench or read an article or meet someone new with the same ride, my life gets better. Every experience makes me a better shadetree mechanic. Every new concept increases my knowledge. Every new person is a new connection and someone to learn from.

Personally, modding has never been about quarter mile times, max possible hp, or least dollars invested. It's about the experience. And punching the throttle, that too. :D

When it comes to mods, he who spends the most, in most cases is faster. Doesn't matter about 4 cylinder or 8.

One thing I CAN say about the GT. The Eco will NEVER match the eargasm that is a V8 exhaust. Period.

That depends on what end of the car you are listening from. BIG Turbo 4 cylinders from the front with that whistle is a beautiful sound.

dang, you made a mistake...

live, learn and move on.

Others of us love the weight balance, and even without said turbo kit, will kill a GT at the track (not the straight one, but the one with skills involved).
The ecoboost will beat the 1LE as well?

Nah self-install with my buddies!
The most enjoyable part of being an automotive enthusiast is being able to install parts with the people sharing the same passion.

If this isn't your cup of tea, you can easily leave the EB stock and it is still plenty fast to get around town, cruise on the highway. Don't forget that it also comes with killer stares with each car you pass and less trips to the pump :clap2:

Amen. I always try to convince people to take the $ they save from installing themselves and invest into the tools to do the job...or other jobs.

Too many computer geeks that don't know how to use their hands for much more than typing on a keyboard anymore. Can't help but feel like they're missing out on what it means to be a man...

:D

Ok, rant's over...

I must be a special type of geek because I installed all of my parts on a lift with friends.

I didn't realize the weight made such a difference, the 1LE is supposed to be a bit faster than the GTPP, pretty impressive.
