Unfortunately mine has both rain sensing wipers and collision avoidance :( So, looks like I'l have to finagle it a bit!

I have both lane and rain sensors and tapped my detector and DashCam there without issue. Just use a multimeter to check power.

They probably have one of the best apps too. I know a few folks who run a dedicated android phone to enhance their situational awareness. Too bad it doesn’t work on iPhone.

Yeah, I’m an iPhone user, but the absence of a phone app isn’t a big deal to me.

After stepping up to the GT from my v6 I find myself reaching some speeds that wouldn't look too pretty in the eyes of the law I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with radar detectors/jammers. I live in a state where jammers are legal. I also am not a huge fan of a ton of wires going all over the dash so if possible are there wireless ones or built in detectors. What do you all recommend?

I see recommendations for Uniden R3 and R7 which are both incredible units. I use the R7 and my wife uses the R3 and both work great; my wife can't even drive unless she has her radar on now . We live in Texas and have not had a ticket in 8 years, I do 100 mph often in my Mustang and also knowwhichareas Ican get away with speeding. The key is knowing how to use the detector and going at a speed you can slow down in time if you have a big signal hit.

Sure they are similar, but accomplish very different goals and have very different effects on people and their surroundings. Hence why they are governed by different bodies.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding about what I'm saying, the law covers harmful emissions. Jamming by definition requires the generation of harmful emissions. Laser radiation is emissions. Running a laser jammer is blasting harmful emissions out of the front of your car. That is what I'm saying.

Laser jammers are not expressly legal, they are just not currently governed by any law or rule. Radar jammers were eventually banned and made extremely illegal, the same thing will occur for lasers if enough jammers start to be circulated.

Actually, they do clock you. The way the jammer works is by "jamming" the lidar for a few seconds, like 5 or so, and alerting you, giving you time to slow down. It automatically shuts off and the officer gets his reading, none the wiser.

The gun reports an error until your jammer shuts off, that’s gonna be really suspicious if they’re able to clock every other car except one. I did research these things I know how they work, you have to slow down quick enough.

I considered buying one too a while ago, but the risk is not worth it. Most police are still using radar anyway.

When you resort to calling names and being rude you forfeit any credibility you had.

Saying things like “you’re speaking jibberish” “you’re fear mongering” “you’re the only one supporting your point so we must all be stupider than you” all erode your credibility. They make me think even more that you don’t actually care about discussing this.

I’ve given several common sense explanations about these devices. I’ve given logical reasoning to why I believe this is a bad idea. My last post before this is the clearest I could make my point. I’ve given a link to a website that sells and advocates for jammers directly coming and saying that using one is at your own risk. Yet you’ve continued to ignore anything I’ve said, disregard all of my explanations, and continually attempt to, bluntly, be a bully to me, in front of others.

We don’t have to agree, I don’t have to think you’re right.
