I'm in the process of being a new radar detector since my V1 was stolen when someone broke into my car.
Decided to go with either the Escort 9500ix or the 8500 x50

Does anyone know any good mirror mounts that will fit the 2015 mustang mirror? I rather not have it suction mounted to my windshield anymore.

Also, how did you guys run the wiring for your radar detector?

Thanks!

I bought this from Amazon. Works great. If you search radar detector wiring on here there's a post that shows which pins to use on the mirror connector. The pin fit isn't real tight, but it's been no problem so far.

Thank you!
I saw the diagram on some threads for where to put the pins, but couldn't find instructions on how to get to/open the mirror to plug the pins in there?

You don't have to open the mirror, or even unplug it. The pins on the detector power cable slide into the back of the connector. It's really slick and takes seconds to do. I have a Passport 9500 and just leave it on. Power comes on and shuts off with the car.

I feel like the ones that hang from the mirror would block my vision.

I take the suction cups off the mount and use 3M double sided Trim tape to mount the bracket to the windshield in the area with the black dots. Have been doing this for years and have never had one fall off. With the Mustang the detector just peaks out from under the dots. From outside the car you don't see it unless you know it's there.

I have an Escort and use the hardwire smart cord so I have the module on the console within finger tip reach with my hand on the shifter to mute, block a false alarm or report a trap.

I bought a BlendMount mirror mount as well as the mirror tap kit to wire it into the mirror :)

Just waiting for my radar detector to come in the mail!

Picked up the Escort Max 2. Now getting ready to order a BlendMount. Which model# is the correct one? Did you order from Amazon, BlendMount site or somewhere else?

Blendmount is what I've been using on this and previous cars.

What pins are you talking about? (picture)

[Assuming he's talking about]

Some of the mounts come with a power adapter that has pins you push into the power connector in the mirror:

Thanks, never new these were out there. would like to see a picture of this inserted in the mirror connector if anyone has one.
