All modern ones detect lasers. If that laser is aimed at you, the detection will not matter.

Valentine it can sense radar laser from in front and back.they invrnted that years ago don't know if others have it now but it's great feature

My point was valentine detects foward and backwards not that they detect lasers they all do thst

Agreed. I was skeptical at first, as I'm not the most confident with electrical work. But after a couple YouTube videos, it was easy. I unplugged the rearview mirror, but if you know where to tap the wires into, it's really not necessary to unplug it.

Yeah I’ll have to give it a shot next weekend. Definitely would be nice to not have the wires hanging down.

Lazer detectors are pretty much useless need jammers now. They get a lock instantly....

Anyone have good advice on the best radar detector? I’m in between the Uniden R8 and Escort Redline 360.

Don't buy either thinking the App will work. But as detectors I really like my 360C and Redline.

I have the Escort 360C. I only run laser and Ka. Not much on K band anymore. I like a quiet detector with the least amount of false alerts. The 360 has great filters but in return that will hurt the range some. The R7 R8 will have somewhat better range with that said. I’m very happy with the 360 and I drive a ton of miles. Also the 360 feels of better quality.

V1 G2 combined with the JBV1 app. The app gives way more options/control than what is available on the unit itself.

Just an update for ya’ll. Had a trnmt I was playing in today. Hit 3 speed traps on the way down and up. R8 picked them all up with plenty of time for me to react. One trooper locked me for a mile after I passed. Solid product.
