Just got my car back 3 weeks to the day. Definitely seems to be quieter in the motor with the hood up. The mechanic said everything went smoothly and he said the two new tensioners were different from the stock ones and activated differently. If i remember correctly he said you just push these...
Yes if the passenger side fails they default to changing out both sides even if the driverās side was good. Iād still ask them what the status was for the drivers side that will be good intel to have. It definitely could have been worse for us - good luck.
Iād be curious if your drivers side tensioner was activated or not. My parts were ordered last Friday and still not in - Iām just about done being nice š”
Update. My service manager called today and said his boss higher up in the Ford food chain said they are NOT to replace my heads if my motor was still in time. He stated the bulletin is to get the step 7 corrected. So waiting on parts and for my mechanic to get freed up. Car went in 2 weeks ago...
I agree this car has touched my soul in so many ways - Iām alive again - well said. My last Stang was a 71 Mach 1 351 Cleveland back in the day when I got my license. Iāve had fast motorcycles and cars since but nothing like this experience.
Sounds like you and I are asking the dealership a lot of great questions and getting good feedback for our Mustang brothers and sisters - great work. I also asked those same exact questions and requested a total motor replacement if they have to do anything more than just tensioners chain and...
Thank you AAI i appreciate that contact information - yes I am watching it intently trust me. My service manager is just trying to get 100% good information from Ford as to exactly without a doubt what to replace and cover his dealership liability.
Ya I agree but thatās what my dealership is leaning towards they are hung up on step 7 including the heads as I stated in my post yesterday. My repair is still being evaluated and processed so I continue to lose sleep
Dang now thatās 2 of us that Both sides were not activated thatās not good for all the motors just getting inspected on the passenger side. I hope I donāt end up being the only one with almost a total rebuild situation.
Vern I believe my motor is the only one reported so far on this thread that both tensioners were NOT activated. This is most concerning to me because you have to pull both sides for a complete visual inspection.
Excellent update review with great intel thank you. Weāre both tensioners not activated or just the right hand side. Mine on the right hand side was the worse you could actually swivel the guide around almost 90 degrees even with the chain on top still.
Not to my knowledge and it makes me uncomfortable calling out specific engine builder at this point but Iām not happy at this point and trying to be civil. I told my dealership I will sell them my car for $65,000 and see ya. But I must say I do love my car.
