Quieting your loud cold starts

I just bought varex xforce valved axle back muffler setup, seems high quality but definitely heavy. Will report back after install.

how is yours with headers and AE, quieter than the HD im sure, but what about the mustang if you cold start it in sport or track, rather than quiet mode? i assume catless LTs??

The cold start on Mustang is louder than the HD at any time. Cold start in quiet mode takes about 45 secs to calm down, the cold start in and other mode takes about 2 minutes to calm down. Once the Mustang gets past 2 minutes, the HD is louder. Now, both at full throttle, the Mustang drowns out the HD.

I did a similar thing, but made it automatic.

I just back into the garage the night before I work a day shift, plug em in before I leave and then drive away after 15 seconds or so. Sounds stock with the noodles in.

I had the same fitted to mine MY17 so no factory option for AE. Sounds quieter than stock when shut fully, cold starts are pretty quiet but mine still has the suitcase muffler though it's xForce's unit. Click the fob a few times and it sounds a completely different animal. Sure it's manual opening and closing but certainly here in the UK it was best of two choices and tonne load cheaper than the Roush unit

New here and thought I'd add my trick that seemed to work for my Borla S type cat backs for my 4am starts. 2 Inch pipe expanded to just under 2.5 inch on ends to plug in where the muffler joins the tip. Holds in without popping out on startup and doesn't touch the chrome part of the tips. filled center with water pipe insulation with 1 inch opening. super easy to plug/unplug.
