Anyone know the distance between the jacking points/pinch welds on the S550 without using jacking rails? I'd measure but car is in storage for the winter and considering a quickjack for other cars too. Is the shorter SLX long enough?

The spread is 60" on the BL-5000SLX and 66" on the BL-5000EXT They picture a Mustang on the EXT on their website.

I have the 5000 slx and it is more than enough. If you want to future proof your purchase, I would invest the extra funds for the 7000 model, you don't need the ext model for the mustang

Here is my setup. It is perfect for all my cars. I pull in over it and when the tires his the tire stop I just pull the quick jack out and position it for the width.

I have the 7000lbs ext version. Spent the extra money on the long one so that I don't have to worry in the future if I they would be long enough or strong enough to lift whatever I throw at them. Those things are worth their weight in gold !!!!!!

Even when it comes to detailing/washing your car.

Thanks all for your quick response just to confirm the 60" SLX reaches the marked jack points?

Don't drive over your quickjack. There is a warning in the owners manual warning about doing this. You have a chance of crushing the air cylinders.

Hahahaa, I dont drive on my quick Jack's. I drive over it. They store under my cars. The taped storage area on the floor and the orange tape on the Jack allow me it back in using the center line on my backup cameras to keep things centered. And when I pull in straight in I have a mark on the far wall that I keep in my eyes on to keep everything perfectly centered as I pull in. I also have a glued wheel stop that stops the car right in the perfect spot.

Gotcha! You had me worried there for a second. :whew: the guideline tape is a great idea!

how stable is that quick jack. Would you trust it to hold the car while pulling a transmission?

I don't see why not, my GT spent most of December on the Quick Jack while i did the headers and X pipe also the diff and half shafts and springs plus loads of other stuff. Its very sturdy once lifted and on the lock outs. When i upgrade my clutch later this year i will be doing it on the Quick Jack.

I am considering the Quick Jack for my car. Do you know if I can drive "over" it with the 2018 GT350 or is the car too low to the ground in the middle? (ie. Exhaust, front, etc.)

no worries. Plenty of room to drive over without touching anything under the car. I have a stock GT350 on 30-series tires.
