Hi all, picked up a 9month old GT very yesterday. Car is in really good condition, but when I press the keyfob to open the boot, it releases the catch, but the boot does not spring open. It will open if I pull it open, but I wonder if it should spring open on its own accord? It's not really a problem, I but I just want to make sure it's not an indication it's been in a rear end shunt.

Any help, much appreciated.

Operating normally for stock. If you want the trunk to pop open when it unlatches, you'll need to purchase the Steeda trunk pop kit. It will require a little more effort to close the trunk, however.

James, had to read your post carefully to figure out you meant whats called the trunk on this side of the pond. The thing we used to call the "boot" isn't even made these days, a stretch or snap on cover for the folded down convertible top to keep out sun and dirt. And, yeah, your trunk works correctly.....lol Maybe one of us should post a UK/US car part translator.
