So the black inserts are harder than the red and Steeda claim neither increase NVH.

So if that’s true, what’s the point in using one over the other ? Is it better just to fit the harder black versions ?

Anyone swapped from one to the other so they got a direct comparison ?

Cheers,

Which colour did you go for ? Or if it’s the kit that has both, which are you going to fit ?

Their site says “little to no increase in NVH” which is politician speak for “these might or might not drive you completely crazy.” I don’t know what the real world NVH difference is between the two, but it is easy to get a ton of NVH out of messing with the diff bushings so I would lean towards the softer option.

Steeda UK’s site quotes :

“Steeda's Urethane kit installs in under 1 hour, adds ZERO increase in NVH, is adjustable and can be easily removed - it simply doesn't get any better than this!”

And :

“Both bushing options will increase performance with no increase in NVH, a Steeda-exclusive.”

And :

“No increase in NVH unlike the competition”

The only suggestion that any of the kits do increase NVH is for the solid ally inserts.

I have read some comments from users that seem to contradict Steeda claims though ... ?

for daily, definitely go for the softest option. For some combination of track/strip go harder. I have shore 70a (whiteline total replacement) which are even softer than the reds and the noise is definitely there. Objectionable? Not at all. Now maybe if you do ONLY the diff inserts (ie, no IRS bracing, no IRS lockouts) the noise is ~zero, but who does that? And what would be the point?

Im running the rear 2 red pucks, i havent done the front. and its already increased NVH, its not bad and barely noticeable. I do have a "thud" when i put it in gear. Once i get the bolt kit eventually ill add the front pucks

The kit, and it comes with red, black and the aluminum ones. I don't want to totally lock up the diff w/o the diff bracket so I'll probably stay away from the aluminum ones, but the black ones are probably the ones I'll go with.

I just installed the Steeda red diff. inserts and I have experienced zero noise or NVH. I have a manual 18, and the shifting feels so much better.

I have the Red’s in my car. There’s no vibration but there is gear noise. Its not that loud. Its About the same as a set of 4:10’s from a gen 5 car..the reds definitely sure up the rear end especially when mated with the rest of the stop the hop kit.

Hahahaha. Zero NVH is a complete lie.

Did you have to complete drop the subframe to install front ones ?

I had to remove the front subframe bolts completely, and loosen the rear bolts quite a bit to get the front to come down far enough. Obviously, just make sure you are supporting the differential with a jack and let it come down slowly
