My BLEND date was 10/18/2014, JOB2. I think that the S550 is still a wonderful car. With every new car you MUST spend the time to get everything fixed in a timely manner. Doors hoods, lids damaged from the factory have to be fixed in the 1st month. I asked Ford Service to replace my trunk lid with a new one. Doesn't matter what model you buy, EB or GT, it is in the moment a 50:50 hit to get one with issues what is actually a shame.

I had a friend in Germany who would tell you never ever to buy a new car. He always bought used 1-2 year old cars. He said every time: "I don't have the time to get everything fixed on a new car and sit my time all day at the dealership. Let that the 1st owner do...." I did this for most of my life. Safes money and trouble. But now I am getting older and we had already 4 brand new cars. Guess what? Doesn't matter what brand you buy these days. Running around and sit at the dealership - knowing already how the coffee machine is working there and where the rest rooms are. I didn't had any trouble when I bought my used 2012 Mustang convertible with 30,000 km on it. Warranty was never used.

I think my friend was right!

Your friend is right. I wish I knew but since this is the first car I bought it's a learning process. I just assumed that since it's 2015 things would be better but sheesh... my dealer is tired of seeing me as much as me them!

1) Their build quality of the 2015 is horrifying, and I hope 2016 fixes this.
Wow! One the things that impressed me was how good the build quality is. The fit and finish is excellent, there are no squeaks rattles or odd noises, everything works as it should, even MyFordTouch has been flawless.

Nah.
This driver buys new all day long. Never have I had an issue that needed to be addressed. Half of the fun of getting a different car is when it's new... being the first to break it in, seeing the odometer at a low number, the smell, having a clean clean clean car, peace of mind that nothing has happened to it, nothing spilled, etc, etc, etc. Plus it's a fun conversation starter.

Got yesterday a letter from Jeep Canada. Recall for our 2014 GC 's alternator replacement. Number 7 gets finally fixed. You see what I mean?

Owning a car can be a hassle, yes. But it comes with the territory. Buying used means you avoid these initial hassles that may pop up, but you'll have wear and tear issues earlier in your ownership than when buying new.

I looked at the data a little differently this morning. Adding up the percentages we can see how many of us have each engine type. SMALL sample size, obviously, but I wonder what the current sales numbers show? I personally thought the v6 and EB would be a little closer to one another...

GT - 62%
EB - 23%
v6 - 15%
Sixers lost 2 percent of their engine share since last I checked.

GT - 64%
EB - 23%
v6 - 13%

Euro wait is a frustrating but it might become an advantage as the car will be in his second production year:thumbsup:...at least that's what I hope...I'm convinced the 2015 model will have the same success as the '64 1/2 look in 30yrs, so let's hope they get it all fixed and under control at production...(if we ar still allowed to drive no electric vehicules by than...:hail:)

Having read all the issues/problems on this forum, I was getting bummed out with my mustang, thinking, "maybe I bought the wrong car, maybe I should have waited for the 16" but driving the mustang it would bring me back to my happy place. Magically, I'm back to being ecstatic with this car after driving it.
I started reading the Camaro5g forum thinking that might have been a better option. Wow.... wake up call...... The new mustang's teething pains pale in comparison to the issues the camaro guys are dealing with. I feel I should bow my head in acknowledgement of their struggles they have when I pass one on the highway.

I think all brands have their bad cars and buying a 1st year redesign you can expect some issues that will hopefully get worked out.

As for the Camaro I didn't buy a 2010 because of being a 1st year car and many 2010 Camaro owners had issues. My 2012 Camaro SS/RS had no issues the 2 years I owned it. I traded it for a 2014 SS Sedan because I wanted the drive capabilities of the Camaro but in 4 dr form. The 2014 was a 1st year car for here in the US but Holden has been making this basic car for several years and I've had no issues with it for the 9months/12K miles I've had it.

Hopefully Ford can workout the quality issues with the new Mustang as I have spot in my garage to keep it safe at night:D

I am watching this posts to see if it would change to 90% fine cars and 10% with issues from the start. But still 50% with issues?!

Don't let those with issues hold you back. Most people post when they have issues, versus people posting that everything is a-o-k. Tens of thousands of these cars have already been sold. This poll shows 70 owners with issues.

To be fair, it's safe to assume that people with QC issues are more likely to check this thread out and place a vote. I don't think this poll serves any kind of use outside of M6G.

Minor issues

I found my hood and fenders are not aligned well, and 3 minor paint issues. I will get the hood alignment fixed, but the paint is so minor I won't mess with it.

Otherwise this car is near perfect!! So far.
