Results aren't valid

Don't get too excited over the results of this poll. I was involved in a bit of statistical polling during my work career and to get accurate results comparable to professional polls like Gallup etc. you need to contact a minimum of 1300 random individuals (2015 Mustang owners) to achieve a +4% to -4% accuracy result.

The key is random rather than the group that frequents this forum.

That's for sure. My dealer is already thinking to fix all issues before the car comes into the showroom/lot. I said that would be much better than having a lot of unhappy customers running around.

Being an internet poll, with a small sample size, generalized validity across the '15 Mustang as a whole was never the intent. Interested curiosity is what I am shooting for. Out of x number of members on the this forum, how many do/don't have issues. That question could be answered and would be valid within that context. The missing component are all the owners who haven't polled. I think we sit at around 25% of owners on this site who have answered the poll. Not a very high % :(

Issues...

I wonder how many of the GT (hardtop) issues are occurring above the door line? Many Forum members have mentioned the misaligned top brake light and weird right door wind/window problems. Having a convertible, of course, I don't have a high brake light but rather one on the trunk lid. My door/window seals have been tighter than on my 2010. I know that there are two types of welding jigs, one type for the hard top and another for the convertibles. It sure seems that the hard top jigs are not doing the job they are supposed to do.

The issues that you have stated are not on my 2015 GT. As reference it was ordered in November 2014,and built in late DEC/JAN 2015. Hit the assembly line just before XMAS 2014. I still have a 2014 GT/CS as well.:ford:

The issues I have with my ecoboost premium is that their are stains in several spots in my clear coat producing kind of like a holographic look to it(i have a black car)

THE FENDERS ARE PLASTIC!!!! and the creak like f**king crazy. any time you press on them they make a noise

The trunk makes the creaking sound from what seems like when you press down on the trunk it rubs up against the taillight trim.

Also the hood flexes very easy. if you press down near the hinges(like when cleaning your car you most likely are leaning on it) it makes a sheet metal flexing noise as if their is no support their. I am also experiencing minor squeaking coming from the gauge cluster like all previous year models have.

Ford spent very little time on quality control on the exterior of this car because most of it was spent on the interior.

Picked up my Guard GT last week - build 2/15. Got to spend some time cleaning it this weekend. I am pretty happy with the body, alignment, etc.

My only real issue is the trans noise - the "thud" and "whining". I am planning to put 1K miles on it and then take it in to service to have it looked at. I am hopeful a fluid change will help.

Fenders!

S550Mike: the fenders are not plastic...they are aluminum, along with the hood. I am not sure about the trunk. That's why they seem to flex more than other panels. Supposedly, the aluminum Ford uses flexes more than steel but resists denting more. On the other hand, Ford said my new Mustang would be delivered about two weeks after assembly but didn't arrive for more than two months.

Thank you for the clarification. They maybe aluminum but they still creak like hell and it's annoying, feels like if it were cheap plastic. Other than the things I mentioned I really do enjoy the car

I cringe everytime I wash or wax mine because of the horrible creaking. I am embarrassed when anyone washes it and hears the creaking.

Hey PonyGrrrl,

I know you were one of the first to take your Mustang in for the alignment issues. Have you tried getting a second opinion from another dealer since? As more people have brought up these concerns, it may be well documented enough to warrant another look. Just a suggestion, if you'd like to speak further about it.

Send over a PM Budnr22, including your VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll escalate the concern for when you're ready to take her in.

Thanks Jeff,

I've had more than one Ford Collision Center look at my car, Ford doesn't want to repair it because they say it's normal. The Field engineer has been to look at it twice and Mario, my CSR said that Ford says it's within tolerance. My passenger door rubs the fender opening the door and Ford said it's normal. As recently as two weeks ago the field engineer looked at my car for the final repair attempt and chose to not perform any repairs to my car.

I'm tired of the arguing with Ford trying to get it repaired. I've wasted enough of my time going to the dealership collision center and the problems persist. I have an arbitration hearing scheduled for Monday with the BBB Auto Line because of the defects in manufacturing and the loss in value as a result. The only fix is tearing the car apart and that's also a loss in value due to a defect in manufacturing.

Ford has offered one car payment for my troubles, that's laughable and I said no. I don't blame Ford for saying no to the repair because I would still go the route of asking for a replacement vehicle. IMO, I believe Ford needs to address the Quality Control issues and stop shipping out busted up cars. It's also foolish for Ford to risk the hit to the title if the car is decided to be a lemon. Better to offer a replacement vehicle and repair this one and sell it as used, but what do I know?

I'm happy to PM you my VIN if you want to look into it but I don't think Ford is budging on this.

:thumbsup:THIS!

You are not alone with your opinion regarding this bad quality on some of this Mustangs. People must check this cars on the dealer lots and make sure they don't get lemon cars instead of a nice new looking car. My car is busted too bud I am in Canada and can't do nothing. I have to give the dealer a chance to fix the car before we go further on what Ford Canada can offer for me. But I know already what is "cooking". Sure you can switch into a new car if you take a "HIT" of xxxxx $$$$. No roblem...." That's where I am worried because I am not willing to lose any money on a car what is crooked from the start on. :tsk:

I've been following your issues too and I feel for you. Does Canada have a lemon law? There has to be some sort of consumer protection. I really hope you're taken care of properly.
