Might be complicating things since I have active exhaust, the valve is too close to the start of where the industrial style single wall Ford tips start from the pipe, probably very little margin of error if trying to cut the tips and try to use something else nicer. the exhausts are like OD 3.5" and the piping out of muffler might be 3"? not so sure, but tips are oddly slanted in beginning to stick out correctly. no universal tips slanted like that and the straight examples would end up probably not lining up good or hitting the valence. That is why I feel for my case, it can only be a slip on sleeve like the black powder coated ones that the other poster put on over the existing tips. For the Corsa/Borla actives, they have a different muffler that lines up their tips correctly from the start, but that is changing out the entire system as only option.

But I am still curious about how the 20+ GT500 muffler / tips are constructed, since the rears in the photos show almost same slanting but with a nice wider polished double wall sleeve? possibly if its exact same sizing, those 20+ GT500 polished tip sleeves could be used to get a better stock look?

The active exhaust's muffler tips are nicer than the non-active, they look fine stock. I do think the non-active muffler tips could be better but they look fine from the sides and have a good slant

Heres my non active, you can see my cutouts too. Atleast those are shiny lol.

I plan on cutting both tips and making it work. Cutting the stock tips before they neck down. It's going to be task. But hopefully it works out.

Magnaflow resonated x on the stock mufflers and cats and you'll love your non-active exhaust. Trust me.

I did more research. will have to wait till GT500 start to show up and see the part numbers from the catback factory diagram, if the tip is a separate part from the muffler system, however I bet it is welded on and must be sold as the full system. It has drain holes and looks double walled and tacked onto the pipes which seem like the GT in a similar fashion, since GT350 use fake tips. But to make matters worse, I read somewhere that the tip covers that make up the 2020 GT500 are 5" and I am sure that is not gonna work well and they would most likely be touching each other if tack welded onto the factory GT exhaust. I am sure the GT500 pipes probably have more clearance from each other and also better positioned with the GT500 valance not to melt anything, (Ford also put insulation and heat resistant material in the new valance for a reason, not that a GT would get as hot vs the 500, but still.)

Here is my fix.took a little time to find the right tips as the originals are oval not round. Then figured out away to stop an vibration using header wrap and then off to powdercoating and I used allen screews to hold in place

Would really like to see a shot from u
The tips are from Go Rhino part number GRT3410B.I cut them to the desired length and used 2 strips of header wrap on each factory tip to create a tight fit.I drilled and tapped 2 holes in each tip and used allen screews which tighten into the header wrap. There is about a 1/8 of an inch of space between them.
Anyone else went this route on MY 18/19 active exhaust?

I am on the fence about it, I went to a Muffler shop with the idea, they would not do the header tape fill in idea, they want to make sure its welded on and secure. They had no guarantee it would work well with tack welding it and getting it to fit and manage the gap. Would have to find some perfect fit tip that was slightly larger than the OD to slide it on and weld it on leaving no gap. And got to make sure the section that is to be welded on the tip is not powder/ceramic coated... other wise weld wont work, has to be a bare steel portion. Some have reported out that the OD may be 3.5" but is actually slightly oval, so a circular tip close to OD might still have issues. I can see how the 4" works fine, but have to work with filling in gaps between factory tip and the 4" tip.

Maybe some company could create a stainless steel tip for sale with support brackets closer to .5" like the FP CF active axle backs which are on a smaller exit pipe though, But it seems the Borla FP extreme do have some sleeve that looks nice, over a borla stock tip. I am not crazy about CF since it can age over time and de-laminate, but the bridge style allows you to unbolt the sleeve off the brackets to replace if needed.

Why do 95% of the posts on this thread have nothing to do with the OP's question? He doesn't care what aftermarket exhaust you like or if a GT350 sounds better than a GT. It's about TIPS for the factory quad exhaust to make it look better.

Now, I'm curious to find a good solution for the Active Exhaust with maybe a slip on style solution. Hopefully something comes about that makes this easy work and make the tips look better!

So far the only existing best solution is cutting 4" exhaust polished/powder coated pipes and insulating with header tape and bolting on over the existing tips like the one that has go rhino black powder coated tips that look decent over the tips without cutting. We will need to wait a bit if any other ideas come by.

Sucks that no company has come out with anything specifically for this application. I guarantee they would sell a crap ton of them! I don't mind the stock AE tips but would definitely love to have an easier option to make them a bit thicker and better looking like the aftermarket systems have. Hope some company picks it up soon and makes something badass for us!

Yeah especially for those os us who sometimes cut hands when cleaning and washing the tips.
