So I was looking for the factory plugs today and found that the part number has been superseded and the new Motorcraft plug is a platinum not iridium? Anyway I've read that people are having good results from brisk racing plugs. Main concern is the timing drop up top from 3-4 shift. I have a upr catch can. Was running 92 with octanium. Powerpack 3 car with the Ford Racing Calibration.

Just curious how many would be willing to pay a few bucks for an app that can turn a $50 OBDII scanner into a dyno?

To hopefully gen up some discussion about the OP's question, as nobody seems to care, I think your timing drop in the 3-4 shift is just due to the what the tables are commanding directly, but it's interesting that it doesn't drop in the other gears at the same RPM & Load. Does anyone know if Ford's strategy involves different timing by gear?

I always thought that iridium was the pinnacle, at least in regard to longevity. Maybe the platinum performs better?

I am sure their strategy varies by to/from gear and shift type variant (powered up, coasting up etc.). This can be for many reasons including how many clutches are offgoing and oncoming for that ratio change, size/capacity of each clutch involved, calculated trans input torque, relative speed across the clutch.....

Each clutch involved? What do you mean? Talking about clutch plates in an auto? If so, he has a manual.

For some reason I thought I read auto somewhere. Graphs make more sense now

Did a crank relearn. Going to log it then install ROR14LGS and log again. Passenger header smoked like a fright train during the relearn. Running great now. Also the advance track is hard disabled at the plug.

Did not update the legend in this new pull with the Dark Blue AFR curve toward the bottom of the graph.

Graph from a 3rd gear street pull today. This one shows a blue and green line from a pull in a single gear from 1500 to 7500 RPM (hitting redline). The blue and greel look a lot more like a what you'd expect to see on a dyno. A peak of around 395/350 rwhp/rwtq. This is lower than most dynos in the 435 range, but in the real world, you're spinning those front wheels and tires, and dealing with other issues, as well.
