It seems like there is a difference between 400A and 401A in how this works. My 401A will return to Normal after startup even if you turn ignition on a set to Track initially. The 400A GT I ride to work in every other day does not do this. If you set to track mode with ignition on it retains...
Is that a spacer between the Steeda support and the factory bracket? Mine did not see to fit up as well as a saw in videos but the kit did not include spacers.
I would say that should not steer you away from tackling it yourself. I just did mine a few weekends ago and that was one of the easier parts of the install. None of the work under the car was very challenging. Getting the boot into the MGW once it is in the tunnel was the worst part IMO...
Flipping traction control switch while in track mode. The message box says traction control turned on but the icon still says it's off. What state is traction control actually in?
I am sure their strategy varies by to/from gear and shift type variant (powered up, coasting up etc.). This can be for many reasons including how many clutches are offgoing and oncoming for that ratio change, size/capacity of each clutch involved, calculated trans input torque, relative speed...
