I run torco on a daily basis for more than six months... it makez a very discernable difference in the "seat of the pants" butt dyno.

Fyi, if you're going to run it on an ongoing basis, get the five gallon mini barrel... you'll save big money versus the individual cans and the barrel will last for months and months (depending on how much you drive).

That reminds me, I need to order more soon.

if the car is pulling timing because of knock, it's pulling it for a reason. it's not the tune, the tune is actually trying to give it timing.

3 things to try.

1 - oil seperator, if your getting oil in it will delute the fuel
2 - fuel quality - add a can of octanium or torco. if that fixes the issue, it's fuel quality, it just is, it's not rocket science, if better octane fixes the issue, it's the fuel

if neither of those fix it, look for vibration issues, if you have headers, check the ac bolt, if it's not hitting or very close (engine does torque) then look elsewhere for something touching / hitting
Beef, you are 100% correct, IF the timing is being pulled because if knock. However, the OP said more than once his tuner told him there was no knock. I assume he means no positive knock, as I find it very hard to believe there would be no knock, positive or negative. That is unless the tuner turned off the knock sensors. Now idk who his tuner is, nor do I care, but I made my statement based off the assumption the tuner knows what he is doing.

without knowing what its supposed to see and what its actually seeing hard to know

tune could be set to add a few degrees if -knock is found, as well

Postive knock negative knock what's the difference? He said no knock was detected. Just that it was pulling timimg. I really think it had something to do with the dyno fans not being on. First pull 418 second was even less 414. Turned the fans on 435 on the 3rd pull. Still pulling timing but not as much. Then he told me to add a octane booster.

Dynos will read different everytime. But, that is a big jump on the 3rd pull. The fans should have been on in the beginning or you will get heat soak really bad.

Very true. There are so many variables used to make up the final spark advance that it is really hard to say what is pulling timing.

Sorry for the thread de-rail, but what mods do you have? 448whp and 396wtq NA is very impressive.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Also yeah I dont think its going to easy for anyone here to be able to tell you what the problem is, if there is even a problem.

If there is 10 degree difference between the time it was tuned and currently that means IAT is going to be about 5+ even higher. I dont really know enough about tuning or ECU operation to say for sure but I thought pulling timing was normal when its hotter.

A safe tune will pull timing for a variety of reasons from what I understand.
