Hi Guys,

Prospective GT350 owner here looking for some advice on the car I’m considering. It is a 2016 tech pack with 35k miles. It’s at a Ford dealership and I’ve negotiated the price to $41K and change, with tax, tag, etc. coming to 45K total out of my pocket. That seems to be their absolute bottom line. The dealer showed me a form that purports to say they’d be losing about $2800 on the deal.

The car has had 4 prior owners (all in my general area) and was involved in a minor rear end collision in April ‘23. The dealership just put a new rear bumper on it, which leads me to believe there may have been some issues with the bumper repair from the wreck. That said, I’ve seen the car with the rear bumper off and I saw no structural damage. Looks like they may have just backed into a pole or something.

I know the prevalent issues with this year model are oil consumption, rear bumper sag, and a/c issues. I don’t see anything that suggests any oil consumption issues. Test drove the car yesterday and the a/c worked great. No ticks in the engine. I also have the Oasis report which shows only a few recalls and that the APIM was replaced about a year ago.

I’m not looking to track the car, so I’m not worried about the lack of the track package, but that does concern me a bit as far as resale goes. Otherwise, the car seems to be in great shape. Paint is excellent. No curb rash at all on the wheels. The black pinstripes look a bit faded, but the only thing I may change is replacing the black stripes with white, so not too concerned. Car seems to be completely stock except for a track pack spoiler was added. The carpet on the driver’s side isn’t stuck to the actual floor, but that seems to be an easy fix.

Anything else specific I should check? Does $45k sound like a good deal? They are including Ford’s Blue Certified warranty (I think it’s called that), that’s for 90 days/4000 miles. Dealership also just put brand new Nitto NT555 G2s on it.

35K is more miles than most GT350s for sale around me, but $45k is also much less than other asking prices. What am I looking like reliability wise? If the car has made it 35K miles with no oil issues, does that mean that likely won’t be an issue, with proper maintenance by me, of course. This won’t be a daily driver for me.

Thanks in advance guys!

Here are some pics, some I took when the bumper was off. Let me know if you see anything suspect

It's fine, buy it, drive it like you stole it, and it will be a great car.

If you are really concerned, as them to do a compression test, but I really wouldn't worry about it.

First time I went to look at it it was in the dealer’s body shop having a new bumper put on. I’m assuming that had something to do with the minor wreck it was in. Maybe it wasn’t repaired properly the first time. Don’t really know.

4 owners is concerning. But Maybe people just change their mind...🤷‍♂️

If it passes the smell test, buy it and drive it.

Sounds like you want the car. Buy it, enjoy it, sell it for about the same price when you're done. It's about as low as a price you'll find for one in decent shape.

If you're really concerned about resale, don't get a tech. If you are excited about driving a GT350 and plan on holding on to the car long term, then I think it's a good buy.

(I personally like not having the extra coolers. I don't need them, and they add weight and more things to go wrong over time. )

The G2’s are a terrible tire but other than that the car sounds solid. Good price too. If they replaced the rear bumper, just make sure the paint match, alignment with rear quarters &taillights, etc. are to your liking before you sign and drive off the lot. Start it up and listen for any unusual noises around the engine bay, make sure there’s no indicators of transmission/clutch issues when test driving, etc., all the usual test drive stuff. Beautiful color by the way, Deep Impact Blue is really nice and don’t see many of them, at least around here.

Tech pack doesn’t have the extra coolers as mentioned above, but if you’re not planning on tracking the car that’s no big deal. The Ford Blue Certified is a good backstop for the next couple of months as you drive it around. Longer term Ford ESP’s are available for purchase via forum sponsor Granger Ford for a good price if you want longer term peace of mind. Otherwise drive and enjoy!

More important than the four owners is who those owners were. It's possible you can track that car down to being abused on some kid's facebook page, but if you buy it with a warranty, don't fret.

Maybe send out for an oil analysis from Blackstone?

Question, are 3 of the four calipers, red?

Think there are just too many questions on it. Just looked at this, 2007, one owner, 22k miles, $12k less. Probably going with it.

Well it’s heavier than the GT350, so technically that’s not true.
less is more…that 350 will outrun the 500, I’ve put more than one of them away down in Mexico 😬

and I’ve never understood the “more than one owner” mantra…unless you’re buying it for resale, who cares?!?

reminds me of that BMW ad…
