Hi Guys,
Prospective GT350 owner here looking for some advice on the car I’m considering. It is a 2016 tech pack with 35k miles. It’s at a Ford dealership and I’ve negotiated the price to $41K and change, with tax, tag, etc. coming to 45K total out of my pocket. That seems to be their absolute bottom line. The dealer showed me a form that purports to say they’d be losing about $2800 on the deal.
The car has had 4 prior owners (all in my general area) and was involved in a minor rear end collision in April ‘23. The dealership just put a new rear bumper on it, which leads me to believe there may have been some issues with the bumper repair from the wreck. That said, I’ve seen the car with the rear bumper off and I saw no structural damage. Looks like they may have just backed into a pole or something.
I know the prevalent issues with this year model are oil consumption, rear bumper sag, and a/c issues. I don’t see anything that suggests any oil consumption issues. Test drove the car yesterday and the a/c worked great. No ticks in the engine. I also have the Oasis report which shows only a few recalls and that the APIM was replaced about a year ago.
I’m not looking to track the car, so I’m not worried about the lack of the track package, but that does concern me a bit as far as resale goes. Otherwise, the car seems to be in great shape. Paint is excellent. No curb rash at all on the wheels. The black pinstripes look a bit faded, but the only thing I may change is replacing the black stripes with white, so not too concerned. Car seems to be completely stock except for a track pack spoiler was added. The carpet on the driver’s side isn’t stuck to the actual floor, but that seems to be an easy fix.
Anything else specific I should check? Does $45k sound like a good deal? They are including Ford’s Blue Certified warranty (I think it’s called that), that’s for 90 days/4000 miles. Dealership also just put brand new Nitto NT555 G2s on it.
35K is more miles than most GT350s for sale around me, but $45k is also much less than other asking prices. What am I looking like reliability wise? If the car has made it 35K miles with no oil issues, does that mean that likely won’t be an issue, with proper maintenance by me, of course. This won’t be a daily driver for me.
Thanks in advance guys!
Here are some pics, some I took when the bumper was off. Let me know if you see anything suspect
