I have a 2021 GT with Performance Pack and magneride. I bought the car used from a dealership and it had 255’s all the way around. Did any mustangs come with a squared setup from the factory or did the dealership mess up and put 255’s on the rear instead of 275’s? Any way to tell if a rim is 9 or 9.5” wide without taking the tire off?

The PP wheels are 19x9 fronts and 19x9.5 rears. Front are 255/40 R19 Rear are 275/40 R19

Not sure how to tell the difference in rim width without taking them off. There may be a part number listed somewhere inside the wheel, but hopefully someone else has some info on this for you.

If it helps any the wheels have the following part numbers:

FrontFR3Z 1007 Y
RearFR3Z 1007 X

I know that is what they are supposed to be, but I looked up my window sticker and it only says 255 on it. Just wasn’t for sure if they outfitted any with 255 on front and back. Would like to go back to 275. Not sure which rims are 9 and which are 9.5 from the previous owner/dealer swapping tires.

Please post photos of front and rear wheel.

My OEM Dark Stainless wheels are square 8.5" and came with all season tires. The front offset works on the back, so they are rotatable. Generally speaking to make the stance look the same front and back requires a spacer to push out the fronts a little, say, ~1/2" thick.

Anyone who know a better way please chime in. Here is how you can tell at a glance. Look at the spoke. The air nozzle sits in the smaller "V" on the 19x9 rim and the nozzle sits in the larger "V" of the 19x9.5 inch wheel.

I can’t thank you enough!! I have the valves in the V on the back and in the larger port on the front. That is awesome you giving me that info. Saved me time and money. Now I know I have 9.5’s, I can get myself some tires. Thanks for all the replies and the help!

That's great to know, never noticed it. But how do you know which wheel is which (front or rear) ? just curious.

If you put them next to each other it should be pretty obvious which one is wider. I never had trouble telling mine apart.

They also sell little valve stem caps which are labeled, if you want to go that route and know right from left too.
