It was those effing spindle nuts after all. I maxed out my 250 pound torque wrench (apparently not tight enough) and then I added about 4 feet of pipe and I stood on it. Got about an eighth of a turn out of both rears; now it’s quiet. They are so damn tight now that the screwdriver I put into the rotor to keep it from turning left a divot in the brake caliper. I don’t know what the hell Ford was thinking when they didn’t put cotter pins or crush nuts on these things.
