Just got a great deal for a tune required kit for my 16 Mustang. The seller sold the car but doesn’t have the transfer function for the maf that they send you does anyone have it? But my main question is I’m in Florida and this car see a shit ton of rain do you guys close the bottom on the turn signal vent so water doesn’t drown the filter? If so what do you guys use to seal it off. I saw someone on here the the gt350 snorkel on here gt and open up the hole for it on the air box tonfeed it fresh air from the grill like stock how many other of you have tried this. Summer temps are coming fast in Florida and I don’t wana kill power with super high iat’s . Thanks all

I was down in Florida last August with my PMAS and no snorkel and the iat's always drop once moving.

As for water, no one has reported issues with water getting to the filter. I've yet to see an even damp filter even though I swapped my louvers and took the hood liner out. I originally bought a prefilter for this but am considering taking it off. You shouldn't have any problems with the stock vents.

Not sure what you are looking for. You use your OEM MAF for the Tune Required PMAS. I ordered the CAI/Lund combo and they used my car info. I never drive in heavy rain so i can't comment on that other than having NEVER heard anyone having issues. I hosed my car down good the other day with a high pressure washer and the filter never got a drop.

To answer your question no, I do not block off the vent above the intake. I live in Ft Lauderdale and it rains heavily quite often. Never had an issue and I daily drive the car. You didn't mention the tune but I have a Lund tune and they dont retard timing until IAT hits 150*. The highest I've ever seen in my car was 142* sitting in stop and go traffic
with AC on high on a 90+* day

Youre worrying way too much about nothing

I also have the PMAS tune required intake with a Lund Flex Fuel Tune. I used my factor Sensor. I’ve never had my filter get wet from rain or washing. Also, IAT’s rise at low speed or idle but not nearly as much as you think. It’s really not an issue.

I’m on Florida as well and haven’t taken any measures to block out the water and so far no issues.

The pmas I bought is the older style with the aluminum maf housing and the plastic air filter box, is it worthwhile to update to the newer plastic maf housing I’ve heard it helps quite a bit with temps .

It needs to breathe. I have the aluminum housing with an aluminum box, although it's only like half a box and WIDE open. Temps are fine when moving. The increased performance is well worth the warm temps when sitting still.
