Some get scared by higher IAT's. Gotta quit staring at it - your car is still adding timing. However, if you live in a part of the country that temps hit 90 to 100 degrees for extended periods, this CAI is probably not for you. Your stock intake will probably perform just as good as those. Good luck mang..No luck in the hot afternoon. It was 80 today and intake temps were 110-120 while cruising and 130+ in traffic. Hate to say it but I’m switching intakes. Looking at the Corsa and Airaid sealed intakes.

Nothing permanent. Was hoping it would work but trying toGot a pic of what you tried?
Thanks!
I’m a little surprised it didn’t make any difference.
Flow vs temp...
Corsa looks a little thin although it def looks better then the air raid, but I always hear people say the air raid has good flow for a closed box haven't heard any review on the Corsa. No luck in the hot afternoon. Yeah mine should be delivered on next Wednesday. I went with CJ because they had free shipping lol I am cheap. I was thinking at first because Sighlense has a performance pack and they come with bigger radiators and oil coolers but then you have the PP model 2. Thermostat should hold down the engine heat and when I do the big mouth later that should increase the air flow inside. My tuner said he is not concerned with the IAT's unless I was FI which I couldn't use that intake anyway or if we were doing an aggressive track tune. He is going to go over a second set of logs just for my piece of mine though any way just to make sure.Gonna try one more thing before I change intakes. I just ordered a Riesche 170 thermostat.
For what it's worth, mine was running a little higher today even though it was another 80 degree day. About 93 while moving and 128 in the city. Came out of lowe's and when i went to start it the temp was 140. Quickly dropped into the 90's about 2 miles down the road. Can't dwell on it. If i was a city dweller i wouldn't be running PMAS.Gonna try one more thing before I change intakes. I just ordered a Riesche 170 thermostat.
Thats about what is was running today. It was 94 in cali when I got off work. it held in traffic at 120. Driving it went to 116 115. Once I hit the city it held at 124 to 126. I had to take my Mother in law so I turned the car off for about 10 min when I got back in it was 150 but once I started driving it went down to 135 in the city. To me it seems like it heat soaks and just never recovers. For what it's worth, mine was running a little higher today even though it was another 80 degree day. Seems like the new heat shield design with no front. I don't remember reading any complaints about the old style. It ran warmer IAT's but nothing like this new design.Did this happen with the older style PMAS with the aluminum MAF housing or just the new style with the plastic housing and smaller air box with no front?
Curious...
