So after getting my long tubes installed I always hear a rattle that sounds like a heat shield when I start the car. Seems to go away after the car idles down but I was wondering if its normal to hear that, or should I start investigating the noise?

I have a similar noise with are long tube headers, offload pipes and stock mufflers. I can't find anything loose on the car. I am wondering if it is the rasp from the mufflers.

inspect the heat shields to make sure they are not loose or contacting them. Then make sure the headers are not hitting the studs for the heat shields. I have seen where the motor moves enough to contact the studs. Then it, of course, causes a noise.
