Do you think I'm fine for roughly 2 weeks/200 miles as that'll be when I have time to get under the car again, I'll probably flush off those pins or see if I can tap them out and see if the shitty screwdriver 90° angle thing I have is strong enough to run a self tapper. OR Should I just buy a one piece driveshaft. I found a DSS brand new in box for 750$ I just got a drive 100 mile round trip to pick it up, (not that bad and I've done much further for cheaper parts). Or just put the plate back on and run the OEM driveshaft till something major fails.
better do your research on here RE: anything DSS… even googling will produce results posted across multiple vehicle platforms/forums….

IF a 1-piece is being sold privately, bet on it that it WAS installed and the user *may have* experienced poor quality and is unloading it…

Also before buying a new 1-piece DS be sure to check the Manufacturer’s or Selling Vendor’s Warranty/return policies.

Really? Besides vibration at 70-80mph I haven't seen a single complain on the forums here. Just great things about how it removes the clunking.
Don’t know which sections you visit on here or read, but yes there are quite a few threads where M6G members have gone to certain 1-piece DS’s and experienced vibes greater than or equal to their original 2-piece DS.

Research brands very well before buying a 1-piece because it’s a lot of $$$ to drop only to end up with no benefit over the stock when it comes to vibes…

RE: the small carrier support bearing heat shield. Punch out the RIVET heads using a pinch or anything small enough to seat on the head and hit that tool with a hammer and the RIVET heads will pop out. Try using a proper sized zip tie to resecure the plate and trim off the excess zip tie tail. The zip tie should be ok as it’s not touching anything and radiant heat will be ok as zip ties are used in a variety of situations and even under hood applications where heat is greater than that of under the car while in motion.

Don’t overthink it…

I thought the entire premise of the one.piece is to remove the clunk not the vibrations. Also ik dss is iffy but besides dropping 1500 on a carbon fiber one which is a waste of money imo for my case. I'd never think about a one piece. The dss for 750 just seems like a. Good deal. No name brand ones are like 550 on eBay but no idea as to quality. Ive been searching specifically on forums about one pieces and besides the stock 2 piece failing because of the shitty non replaceable u joint and extremely slop/clunk in the stock driveshaft those are the only issues with it. I just don't like the idea of it failing especially since I won't be touching it for awhile and that ujoint is already pretty sloppy. I know most of the slop is because Fords rear end is out of spec from the factory which causes issues. Hell I can get almost 1/2-3/4 turn on the driveshaft while parked it's so sloppy.

All I’m suggesting is research before plunking down your cash. If you know DSS is “iffy”, why even entertain dropping $750 on it? Don’t do any “no name brand” from eBay… Thats all I’m saying - your money your car, we get it…

recommendations:
- Steeda

- GForce (they had an S550 1-piece DS offering but I can’t find it on their site - unless it’s a call to place order type of thing. They are very well known in the Mustang hobby for excellent, quality products and have been so since the introduction of the 2003/04 Cobras. Here’s the info on their DS, scroll down in article:

Tbf 700-750 for a brand new dss driveshaft (found one nne market place and one on eBay). Is about the max id pay. Steeda is just under 1600$ and I only found 1 single place with the GeForce listed and they no longer stock the product or sell it and it's a legacy listing for record keeping. So I'm not sure they even make the driveshaft anymore. 18+ is easy to find. 15-17 not so much. If the dss is so bad then why do they sell so many? I don't want to waste my money but as a welder 2 driveshafts with the same material can't justify a 2x cost ,(dss vs steeda). Also everything bad I see about them is regarding their carbon fiber driveshafts. Little to nothing about the aluminum driveshafts having issues.?

I'll be using some self tapers at an angle to hole that heat shield on in about 2 weeks when I get the car off the ground. But if you get a chance check out my new post, it is specially regarding 1 piece driveshaft moreso a certain brand that is cheap (dorman)
