I've never understood the appeal of PMAS intakes (looking aesthetically offensive with no heat sealing) , but after seeing the lack of an airduct connection to the front end I'm appalled.

Do yourself a favor and put the factory Bullitt/GT350 piece back on and get an RMA for that thing.

I completely agree with you and wish it were that easy. The GT350 intake tube didn’t stick out far enough away from the throttle body to clear my nitrous and purge solenoids. I had to go with the PMAS to gain clearance. The other alternative was JLT, but I don’t necessarily like the looks of that setup either, but would have used it if I had to though.

No because it pulls in air that has gone through the MAF sensor. If you put a breather on the drivers side un metered air will enter the intake manifold.

The car will probably compensate for this but I'd never do it with nitrous.
Well damn! It’s always something. What a PITA

The air temperature delta from MAF sensor reading to Intake valve at the combustion chamber isn't impacted much by the rise in temps @ the filter area MAF housing.
If cylinder head temps are stable at 210 F you can bet the intake air is heated close to that point regardless of the CAI. The magic is in PMAS's 120mm MAF housing and elbow design, not in air temps @ MAF sensor.
Just one mans opinion.

So the purge solenoid, is the green pushlok fitting vented to atmosphere ? Or is there a small section of 1/8 polyflow tubing connected to the green pushlok and routed someplace ?

I'll bet that 20 HP increase is on a dyno with the hood up and a fan blowing over it.

Smokey said when changing air direction to use sharp angles. So the elbow is good but hot air is bad.

I'm not sure, but the increase is without ecu tune and MAF transfer function only due to the 120mm MAF.
That elbow is proven and is a design from the pneumatic conveying industry called a GAMMA Bend.

Smokey Yunick discovered that back in the 50's
He was a very smart man.

Well now you're going to make me go down a rabbit hole. I'm curious as to if the Gamma bend has benefit either under pressure, vacuum or both. Time to start reading.....

Agreed that there are benefits to this bend in a pneumatic system under pressure but not much out there in regards to its benefits under vacuum (which an intake is under).

No need to understand the appeal, just the independently verified 20 hp gain is all the appeal needed.

Anyways OP:

You can always cut the d-side breather hose in half and lengthen it with some 1/2 hose. Should gain flexibility and clearance.

Yes, the greet push lock fitting has the poly line connected and run to the windshield cowl on the passenger side of the car.

Thanks WildHorse. Just as soon as I think I’m on the homestretch, something else always pops up.. I’ll have to pick up a few feet of hose.

One reason Smokey's cars won all the races they did. He understood how to port intake runners in heads.

I believe his words were. Change the direction of air by cutting it like butter, take the loss and go with it. Anyway this is where the 1 inch of straight section from the valve seat came from.

Change air direction with a straight 90 degree bend for min loss.

A naturally aspirated car the intake track is always under pressure, not vacuum. Atmosphere is 14.7, the air is pushed into the cylinder, not pulled.
