I just checked, and the things that can kick in torque management in a 2020 GT are, but not limited to:

WOT load
HSPI
LSPI
IMEP
Megaknock
IMRC failure
EGT
MAF limit reached
MAP limit
ECT
PATS
Anti-Shuffle
Cruise control
Driveshaft protection
Idle and Decel
Combustion stability
Wheel torque
Transmission truncation
Traction control
Vehicle speed
Engine speed
Tip-in
DFCO
Shift modulation
FMEM

I'm seriously considering a cable throttle and FAST stand alone FI controller. It also does TiVVT. Also a stand alone tranny controller. Come on 2000 stimulus.

I HATE the torque based throttle.

Interesting to go back and re-read this. IMO torque management is ridiculous, and a needless neutering of our cars. Evidently used in lieu of putting better/stronger parts in the drive-line.

Anyways, thanks for the information.

Have you used hptuners to tune your own? I ask because the oem system is extremely versatile and you can make it respond however you want.

Torque management is in a nutshell xx% throttle at xxRPM will give you that percentage of torque based on throttle % & RPM.

eg: 33% throttle @ 3300 RPM will give you 33% of the max available torque at 3300 RPM. 100% throttle will give you the MAX torque at 3300 rpm.

My tuner always toned down TM in my Vette's. But he never took too much of it out to cause problems.

Correct, and you can program it however you please. And if you’re like me, you went into it thinking about all the limiters you might remove (because we didn’t need no stinkin limiters back in the day), but then realize these limiters are there for good reason and wind up leaving most of them active.

Also keep in mind that AT and TC are only two forms of torque management that are easily bypassed. There are many, many more.

I'm really interested in what "problems" arise without TM. Is it just the possibility of breaking certain parts? How would/could drivability be negatively effected?

Plug at airbox...
Which one? Can you snap a pick? Can I just go un-plug it and drive the car without TM? Or reduced TM?

This is what gets unplugged for dyno runs, right?

The fender plug CAN NOT AND DOES NOT disable all forms of torque management. In fact, most of them remain functional. I believe that plug just disables wheel speed sensor(s?), which in turn disables abs, tc, and at.

Thanks. I'll leave it alone.

Protects the trans to. Clutch on the manual and the clutch packs in an auto. I think unplugging the connector in the engine bay is a stupid thing to do.
