I didn't know what a map slot was until my tuner told me to load a new tune we are working on into map slot #2. So he sent me a video and now I know how to change map slots, ok. But I still don't completely understand what one is.

If I understand correctly, I can load one tune into map slot #1 and another into slot #2 and then easily go back and forth between tunes by simply changing the map slot (instead of plugging my Cobb accessport into the car and loading a different tune via the Cobb which takes a few minutes to do). Is this correct? And if so, does changing the map slot immediately change the tune, or does it take a couple of minutes to load the tune from the other map slot like it does from the Cobb?

Or if I am misunderstanding this, please educate me concerning using different map slots, thanks.

You have 1 tune that gets uploaded from the Accessport. Your tuner sets up different map’s within that tune. When you change map slot the change happens instantly. The tuner will tell you which slot they want you to be on to run a datalog. It’s a really nice system they use.

Cool. So my assumption is correct(?) I can keep my tune in map slot #1 for 93 octane pump gas, and put the tune for 100 octane in map slot #2 and change to #2 for when I put Boostane in it and track it on 100 octane. Then I can simply swap back to slot #1 when I run out the tank of Boostane without having to plug in my Cobb and manually change tunes with the Cobb to get it back to the 93 tune. Right?
