Hello everyone, I just did an oil change on my dad's 2021 Ford Mustang GT, is it normal for there to be a little bit of play and gap between the plug and oil pan? Mine does the same thing when the oil is changed but it eventually sinks into place fully, for reference my dad's car is the top photo and mine is the bottom photo.

I did use a new plug, I also took another photo and maybe it was the angle I took it earlier but it looks fine from this angle so I might just leave it, it is locked in on the tab so who knows.

If it's locked in then I'm guessing it's fine.
I fire mine up and check for leaks, if it's locked and dry I call it good.

That being said I'm still not sure how I feel about these plastic plugs.
I haven't leaked a drop from one yet though and they sure are easy.

That's true I have triple checked today and nothings come out, even after two drives, so I am assuming it is fine but I can never put my full trust in it for whatever reason.

It looks fine, as long as the O-Ring is sealing and the plug is locked into position, it's not going anywhere. My Ford sourced plugs also have a small gap.
