I'm inspecting my car prior to winter mods and taking oil sample and noticed seeping around the new style UPR drain plug the same as the old style UPR. I will be using a OEM when I replace my oil. The disimalarities of drain plug and oil pan and not expanding at the same rate I can only guess is causing the seep.

That’s unfortunate. I’ve had great luck with my Femco oil drain plug. Might be worth a shot.

I use Fenco drains on all of my other vehicles. I guess I can try one for my Mustang. I really enjoy being able to controll the flow and makes it easy to take samples.

Thats really weird, i have the same type as i hate the huge flow amount of 10qt on this style of plug, and im yet to find any leakage at all.

Try inspecting the o rings when you pull it out, as well as i assume you get it tight and use the allen key to lock the secondary piece from turning?

(DougS550) I was just looking at your pictures, and you have the old-style drain valve installed. Have you checked your o-rings as that is an old design that I see GT350 guys update the o-rings occasionally to ensure a perfect seal. We do see more of a variation on the GT350 pans for some reason even though they use the same plastic yellow drain plugs.

I have seen may enthusiasts just use vacuum to keep the oil in the pan and R&R any drain plug to inspect and install new o-rings. This is not an issue we see unless there is a scratch in the o-ring or debris lodged in the oil pan drain port.

Replacement o-rings always solve any issues caused by unforeseen circumstances. Either way, we'll get you on track and fixed up.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.
