I live in California's Central Valley; a place I call 'our own little slice of Idaho.' Brodozers are the norm here, and typically behave as expected, but no one rolls coal--even though enforcement isn't particularly strong--and, occasionally, they're even considerate when I'm on my bicycle (half the guys in big trucks actually use them for work). The kids in saki rockets are the biggest nuisance (and Nissans, of course).

It's just a guess, but I think because the Bullitt is a bit of a sleeper--no 'bling,' no massive spoiler, no racing stripe decals--it doesn't challenge the Bros.

Try driving a honda civic around! Anytime you pass any vehicle on the road they instantly think you want to race or start road raging with you. Doesn't matter if their going 10 under the speed limit in the left lane and you pass them with 10 car lengths of room they still get butt hurt. People are dumb and medicine has come so far we now have the ability to keep stupid people alive longer. Then they breed with other stupid people and it just gets worse each generation. It's reverse darwinism.

Well said, american society has become alarmingly uncivilized, we're just swirling around the toilet as the trash starts to outnumber civilized folks with common sense and critical thinking skills.

Here in Texas, Granny will get all up in your biz if you're going too slow. Having lived a great many places over the years, SoCal and all of Texas are the two craziest fast driving places to own a vehicle and a drivers license. So, at first blush - especially at 5:30 in the am - passing a slowpoke (or pokes) made perfect sense to me; of course, it also made perfect sense for someone to be pissy at 5:30 in the morning about another driver who thinks they're 'special' and should get front-of-the-line privileges.
That said, when the other driver went from being a cranky-potamus to a rage-addled psychopath, I lost all sympathy for that individual, even when I've been that person on an unfortunate occasion; or maybe because of that experience (different situation, a woman almost caused me and my daughter to go into a ditch and didn't even care or slow down; I got angry over that.)
If the Ram could catch up with you to give you grief, clearly you weren't matting the gas pedal (though that could have been a handy solution) and this seems very much a 'him problem' and not necessarily the vehicle he was driving. Some people have bad days (myself, for instance); some people are just asshats. Keep on keepin' on.

Do I fill the canister with ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, or dish soap? James Bond uses hot engine oil...
😄 In that case don't use the $4 hand pump at Harbor Freight

FitcamX front and rear installed. Wish I had this when the rager came after me. But I’m also happy to have it because the car is due for state inspection and I always wonder if one of those clowns is going to take it for a joyride. When I had the GT, I picked it up after an inspection to find launch control turned on and 5 miles on the odometer, would have loved to have been able to see what happened in those 5 miles.

You have to leave your car for a state inspection? 😳

You can wait on it, but it takes a couple of hours usually.

I haven't really noticed a lot of road rage during my driving. However, most of my driving is during rush hour.

Yeah I get irritated when people pass on the right,
The thing is, no one should be able to pass you on the right. You are supposed to stay right unless you are passing someone. You are not supposed to hang out in the left lane. I realize you are talking about a situation where the right lane ends, but there's no reason for a long line of people to be in the left lane. Everyone should stay right until the lane ends.

We have all kinds of people here who seem to do this. I pass on the right all the time, because most vehicles are in the left lane, whereas the right lane is almost always empty.

And I think this is the root of most road rage. People have COMPLETELY different ideas about how drivers are supposed to behave. Everyone seems to think that their way of driving is great and everyone else is either crazy or way too careful. I try hard to be tolerant of others; often I'm not that successful. The people that drive me the most crazy are those on their phones in the left lane leaving 1/2 mile gap in front of them for "safety". Or maybe it's the people who drive slowly in the left lane unless someone is trying to pass them on the right - at which point they will drive at whatever speed is required to prevent that pass.

re: " You are supposed to stay right unless you are passing someone."

I think it's the law, but it's not enforced in California--and hasn't been for years, if ever--traffic is just too heavy. The High Occupancy (carpool) lanes do get enforced occasionally, and the toll lane cameras are pretty effective (though some try to duck in and out of them).

I'm super chill when driving. Good driver, I drive the speed limit, I've had lots of different cars in different USA cities, rio de janeiro, and colombia. I've never had someone be really aggressive with me yet I know people that it's a weekly occurrence. Worst I had was when someone rear ended me when I was waiting at a red light, my hitch wrecked his bumper, and he was mad at me. It was bizarre.

I recently got a plate that says "friends of coal" "Coal keeps the lights on"
Would love a plate like that on my Tesla if Arizona had one, or even a "Friends of Nukes" since we have Palo Verde. Would be a hard choice since I had to get elected officials involved to force DMV to issue me a Veteran Plate. Seems they had an internal and informal rule forcing all EVs to have "Clean Air" plates. But a Coal plate would maintain my unicorn status.
