'22 Ecoboost premium. Ford says their ecoboost calibration is only up to 2021 models. Anyone tried it on a 22 yet?

Good luck getting any information about this product. I have been in contact with Ford Performance and they cannot answer any of my questions and just refer me to the product page - which has little information on it. I have asked about the tune here too - also with little information about the changes.

The general consensus is the tune makes the Mustang behave how people thought it should from the factory. And people seem to like it a lot. But I want to know WHY and WHAT changes.

In theory it should. I bet it will work for 2022, but it hasn't been validated just yet. And if you are worried about the warranty, its probably best to wait till it is officially supported.

The Ford performance tune will not work on a 22 until Ford says so. The being said, it is primarily sold as a tune you can retain the factory warranty with. It will likely perform nearly the same as the 21 calibration. With an intercooler, you'll actually be able to make use of it. The stock intercooler is tiny and constantly heat soaks and pulls timing.

"With an intercooler"

Learn something new every day! Didn't realize that it required an Intercooler till now... Been thinking of buying a Convertible HPP (to update my personal 2010 Mustang) and adding the Ford Performance tune only. Guess, I'll just leave it 100% factory stock and enjoy it!?
Thanks, Dustin

There is no FP tune for a HPP eco as of yet that I am aware of so best just enjoy it as built. It will always benefit from an upgraded IC regardless.

Pardon me chase, it doesn't require one by Ford specifications, just from what I've seen in general these cars have a very difficult time making consistent power with the stock intercooler. You'll even make more power on the stock tune with an upgraded intercooler as proven in the big intercooler thread.

Whether or not it's a mandatory addition for the car to run, a properly sized intercooler is necessary to consistently make even stock power levels.

Not to cause a scene here, but I think its foolish to run a tune on a otherwise stock car.

Crazy to me people will jeopardize the 5 year powertrain warranty for 20hp and maybe better throttle response.

Can`t believe someone would actually put a new intercooler on a otherwise stock car.

Your both right!
An Intercooler will make a world of difference, but it's probably not worth risking the warranty over.

Well, I can't believe that someone would drive a car for 5 years before addressing the trivial mechanical shortcoming which holds it back from being much better.

For the record, it's more like 100 HP over stock. I did it at around 1000 miles on the car & I couldn't give a 1/2 a shit about the warranty.

You act like most people driving mustangs are out road racing or tracking driving every week. These short comings will not effect most people. I would love to pull data on how many street driven stock mustangs are pulling timing due to overheating 😂. The comment made by the lethal performance is geared for tracking driving or more serious road racing.

I get it your a enthusiast and want stuff to run better regardless racing or not. But I feel its the duty of the community to educated people on the pros and cons. I have had terrible experiences in the past modding cars and dealing repercussions of it. Its all not positive always.

Makes a world of difference to who? The guy tracking or me daily driving my mustang to work and sometimes flooring it...

Based on my experience, anyone who goes wide open thottle for more than 1000' in a 2 hour period.

When I took my, then factory stock, 2018 Ecoboost Mustang to the 1/4 mile track, the Intercooler maxed out at approximately 1000' and took roughly 2 hours to return to normal operating conditions.

Just as I thought.

total overkill for street driving with occasional WOT on near stock car.
