For 2018+ cars, there are two different Ford Performance Calibrations:

- M-9603-M4C: 2018-2021 listed as vehicle fitment
- M-9603-M4CA: 2018-2022 listed as vehicle fitment

Can anyone confirm whether M4C for sure works on a 2022 Eco? I can't think of any reason why not and would love to save the extra $150 to cover the Ford dealer visit for install, but also don't want to be stuck in a spot where I can't even use it on my car.

Thanks

Don't have an answer to your question about fitment but just an FYI, both tuners for the eco mustang do not allow you to return to stock calibration at will, you must pay a dealer to reflash the "as Built" PCM calibration.

Appreciate that info, but I can't foresee any reason I'd be flashing back to stock? Wanting to go with FP for the "warranty" with it and on my V6 I only ever switched between pro tunes and never really went back to stock unless I was being super cautious like when I did my digital dash install.

According to the official Ford Performance website - looks like it does.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-M4CA

  • Fits 2018-2023 Mustang EcoBoost with manual or automatic transmissions (Not for use with 2020-23 2.3 HO)
Yeah that's what I have in my post, M4CA is the revision. I want to know if anybody has tried M4C on a 2022 or 2023 Eco and can confirm if it works.

I have the M4C/Procal 3 in my 2020. The M4CA/Procal 4 was not available when I tuned mine.

The CA is the revision for the Ecoboom cars to keep the CARB EO

The CA also use a rebranded Livernois handheld tuner versus just a OBD dongle and USB cable along with a laptop to interface with PCM. The tune mapping was done by ford/livernois.

Yea my Ford Performance power kit for the2018-2021 Mustang GT is the same hand held Livernois tuner with just a FordPerformance wrap on it.

Pretty sure Livernois doesn't actually make the FP tunes, but FP does license their device, which is why they show up in the CARB EO.

Agreed and is why I put ford/livernois in above post since ford is just using the livernois hardware to install their software.

I'll reach out but I have a feeling they're inclined to say M4CA regardless, no point in making a new one if there wasn't some sort of justification (like the CARB cert expiring).
