I'm on the same page as the op. No point in buying a new car to void the warranty and further depreciate the value of the car. Plus the price of parts are horrific right now. I'm probably going to do an X-pipe and mufflers for now. It'll shave off a little weight and make the car sound good, nothing really crazy. Overall I am very happy with the car the way it came from factory. After the car is paid off and warranty is expired, then I'll do an intake and tune, possibly headers and some suspension.
I'm right there with you!

It seems I'm consistently asked "what mods am I gonna do?", when I'm just not seeing a reason to do much of anything to the car. I'd like to take it on a track, but I'm as novice a beginner as you can be, so I'm pretty sure I'm not in need of upgrades yet. In fact the only things I'm not thrilled with is the exhaust and the tires. I'm working on something to turn the volume up a little, but I have to keep in mind that I unfortunately live in a hybrid and electric car saturated part of the country and even in stock form I'm "that guy" at the end of day.

I'm in the same boat regarding modding, though I'm no novice with regards to modding or tracking cars. I just like the GT the way it is. Even the exhaust is fine with me.

I see myself maybe putting in a custom tune to push the stock car to its full potential, lowering it for better looks and handling, and then just putting better tires on.

Meanwhile, I've done full bolt-ons to my EcoBoost (before trading it in), and supercharged my '13 Mustang GT (before selling it).

This car, though... it just feels more balanced and I don't feel like messing up anything by pushing it too much in any way. Just my humble feelings on the car. Bravo, Ford!

I think I'm on the same track as you guys, I don't mind doing small stuff, but I want to try not to tune it or mess with much. It's an awesome car, and way more capable than I am in its stock form, so I'll be happy for a while with just little stuff like a shift knob and hood struts. Lol

Hey mate

How about some HPDE (High Performance Driver Ex) and track days?

That will give you more skill behind the wheel, allow you to take better advantage of what you already have, and soak up all that extra money burning a hole in your pocket! :-)

i'd love to do that, ive been invited to do it with my buddies. just dont wanna deal with the hassle of possibly picking up rock chips during the sessions and having to change all the fluids after the track day.

im still on and off about it. i was actually checking yesterday to see if there were any GTPPs for rent in RelayRides so I can take it instead of mine, LOL

There's an HPDE near here that uses Mustang GTs. A bit far for you, but perhaps someplace near does the same thing.

As to concerns about your car, I get it. I'm a little bit that way also. But then again... you bought, so use it, and enjoy it. You can't take it with you...

Yea there is plenty of stuff you can do to this car without voiding the warranty on the power train. The motor has PLENTY from factory. Of course that is subjective. I am coming from a Honda so yea...for me its an animal

CAI and cat backs are easy and safe upgrades with zero risk of warranty issues so those are always on my list. I'm a bit more conflicted about new springs and sway bars as they are more likely to cause warranty issues if something goes wrong.

That is where I'll be headed with my 2016 GT.

Tint, wheels later on, intake tube, maybe and I've been wondering would a 91 Octane Tune.
