I have a Blue GT premium with grey foundry wheels. With just $500 I have replaced my resonator with and H-Pipe which gave me the exact sound I wanted and I recently replaced my stock intake tube with Airaid and dropped in a K&N airfilter to stock Airbox. I was able to notice the power difference from stock and am very happy with these mods. Also I tried the clutch spring removal for 2 weeks and did not like it so I put the spring back in. Car is perfect now IMO!

Hmmmmmm...I think you might just have the placebo affect. Catbacks have been proven to only provide 1-2rwhp. I have my resonator removed, replaced with a Ford Racing x-pipe and Roush AB. No power increase at all. I would doubt just a K&N filter adds anything.

It sounds like your focus is saving money? If so, you could have skipped the Airaid intake and just got the K&N filter for the stock air box. I think either will do very little. I understood replacing the resonator with the H-Pipe to be just for sound (at least I'm hoping). Either way, the important thing is you are happy with it so congrats!

Thanks! I'm pretty happy for now.
I had the k&n filter in there from the get go but as soon as I did the tube, that's when I noticed the power!
$ is not the issue, it's a daily driver so I'm not looking to super charge a 450hp car just a little something makes me happy!:)
Really enjoy this forum too, good luck to everyone on their Stangs!!

I did not notice any at all, it's really only louder on startup and higher RPM's.
Next thing I may do is remove the sound tube to clear up clutter in the engine but i am afraid i may lose some of the feedback from the engine, have you tried removing it?

My sound tube was removed and I frankly noticed no difference in sound, but do like the look of the engine bay MUCH better without the clutter. Of course, my wife says I can never hear her when she calls me so....

Haha, that's a good thing! I think I will remove mine, just need to figure out how to get to that damn nut! The Airaid tube came with plugs so that problem is solved.

I'm on the same page as the op. No point in buying a new car to void the warranty and further depreciate the value of the car. Plus the price of parts are horrific right now. I'm probably going to do an X-pipe and mufflers for now. It'll shave off a little weight and make the car sound good, nothing really crazy. Overall I am very happy with the car the way it came from factory. After the car is paid off and warranty is expired, then I'll do an intake and tune, possibly headers and some suspension.

What's the cost of just the air raid intake tube? Got a link or any pics?

The only thing I don't like about airraid stuff is the giant airraid emblem they slap on them. They sure are proud. I wonder if a blue oval would fit there nicely instead?
