No doubt. What is hard to understand though is a few people have seemed to devote their time on here to disproving ANY claim no matter how small from a CAI....I haven't seen anyone claim that a CAI without a tune is better than one with a tune. I do however believe from my experience that there are CAI's that do add a small improvement in power/torque and throttle response. The parameters are within the car from the factory and just like your car will run better in 60 degree temps than 95 or run better on 93 than 87....it only makes sense, right? And no I'm not talking about huge gains. Most likely somewhere in the 8-15HP range.....The only thing I can think of is some of them bought crappy pieces and have become jaded, or had mile high expectations and were disappointed with the results.
Speaking of the GT350 I can almost assure anyone that the hard breathing Voodoo picked up it's final total of 526 because of it's CAI....Remember before it was released Ford was saying a tiny bit over 500HP then when it came out it was at 526....Probably the addition of the CAI added another 15 or so HP.

I'd be flattered that you're so tore up over me if you'd focus on my point regarding tunes vs cai's instead of constantly bringing up this imaginary rivalry you think we have. I have news for you: I'll argue with anyone, anywhere, about anything if they say something I disagree with. You are in no way special and I'm certainly not your nemesis. You could change your username and it would make no difference--say somthing dumb or questionable and I'll talk about it, I don't care who you are. And what you said earlier about people with intakes always seeing gains at the track but people with tunes only "sometimes" gaining "a bit" makes no sense at all. Think you could deflate your puffed chest long enough to clarify that statement?

Yea as impressed as you are with your own statement to prove your own self-worth to yourself, all it means is that you have nothing more important to do than to stalk other members and start arguments. And that "I'll argue with anyone anywhere" crap proves it. And it IS personal with you. Everything you say proves it. You have some personal beef with CAIs and you have some obsession with finding me on this forum just to argue. Maybe you need the attention or you need to prove yourself. I don't know. But you are wrong. Either that or something is seriously wrong with your car. Or you don't really know exactly what to look and feel for. Or you were expecting something similar to a 50 shot and got disillusioned when you didn't get those results. Or you're just mad because you thought you would get the HP claims of the manufacturers. Whatever your illogical conclusions are based off of, you are wrong and you would do well to sit back and try to learn something from those of us who know better.

No one is on a crusade against cold air intakes. What is more "hard to understand" for me is how personally some people take the CAI discussion--as you can see from this thread there is a lot of avoidance of questions going on, but a good deal of whining about nonexistent rivalries. For some posters it almost seems like they'd rather discuss you as a person than the questions you ask them. If people would just provide clarity when they are asked about their statements these topics wouldn't drag on into oblivion like they do, where 90% of the posts are special snowflake crying.

Case in point: nothing about the actual question asked several times, but 100% whining about the person.

Good points. And I don't care if someone expresses skepticism in whether or not a part works or how well it works. I don't mind when someone says they felt no difference in their car. But when someone sits here telling me that I felt nothing in my own car, that just proves that they want to argue. If mine didn't work on my car, then I would tell people or I would have taken it off and returned it. But they do work and I tell people. The fact that I've never seen anyone put the stock intake back on except for when returning the car to stock, that right there says a lot. And everyone who has used one whether on a page or forum has reported the same thing. Yet you get one argumentative person with some weird anger towards CAIs and who likes to follow people on forums to start arguments trying to preach that nobody nowhere ever got any results. Even the MIT with K&N, the guy I got mine from before I got the official CAI told me he tested it and it made about 6 hp over stock. I put the filter in my little brother's EB and a day later he called me and told me his car was louder and felt faster. That was just from a filter. But people just want to argue for whatever reason the wanna argue.
